Hey buddy, be happy to trade food, fishing and room for some bookshelves...we always have tons of projects on the go...can keep ya busy for a good while.

BajaGringo - 6-15-2008 at 10:40 AM

I will play my congas for room and board.

If I open my mouth to sing you will run me out of town in three seconds flat...

OK, but you have to bring a pitcher of those cadillac margs! Bring Elinvest with you...he CAN sing! The good news is that we don't have any running water at the moment so you can maintain your unwashed pecker status. (It sure has been fun time warping back to high school)

Capt. George - 6-15-2008 at 10:48 AM

if my back ain't fixed I can hobble around and imitate Chester on Gunsmoke

any pay for that...I'll even moan with each step..

BajaGringo - 6-15-2008 at 10:59 AM

This is beginning to sound good...

shari - 6-15-2008 at 11:28 AM

The hobbling could be good entertainment...and I hear you might be able to keep up with our partying...but NO MOANERS, WHINERS, or canuck haters por favor.

BajaGringo - 6-15-2008 at 11:31 AM

I love Canada. If I could swing it I would have a summer place there...

Please, Shari! You must except Capt. George from the "no moaners, whiners" rule. He is willing to entertain.

If he brings some some good booze with him to share, I say let him in. I'll just play my congas and bongos over his moaning...

Another thread completely hijacked. But BajaGringo -- you and Dennis finally have something in common...he plays the drums.

Capt. George - 6-16-2008 at 05:49 AM

I'll throw in a free view of my upcoming scar, tie up the women folk..oh joy!

whining and moaning a necessity, ask Deborah. But I'll sit in a corner with my Pacifico and do it quietly.

what hijacked? moaning and whining is hard work

(the theme of the thread)

shari - 6-16-2008 at 08:04 AM

Lo siento amigo...we welcome ALL hard workers (buff is nice!) but leave your sniveling at the airstrip. We embrace the macho scar showing display but with gusto...pride...honour and stoic bravery. Even though I am known to be a softy, too tolerant....I draw the line at whining...moaning may be accepted but not for personal pain. (but never say never...perhaps if you leave an extroardinarily large propina.....)

I'm taking a vow of silence for a while. Then, it's off to Postal Annex to pick up my new Banjo.

shari - 6-16-2008 at 09:21 AM

Apart from missing much needed bookshelves...we are missing the bluegrass element here....a banjo would nicely round out the newly forming band...The Unwashed...Juan's been looking for a used banjo..any leads? Luke...what are you gonna play? we have Kevin on steel guitar, juan on lead guitar, Raymundo on sax, shari on violin and spoons, gypsy in only her dancing shoes, gringo on congas, dennis on banjo, bird dog on his duck whistle, Iflyfish on tambourine accompanied by msfly on marocas, fishbuck clapping....oh this is gonna be a big band! The trotters will be able to hear it clear over in Diverlandia.

I've never seen one in the segundas but, Craigs List has about anything you want at one time or another. You'll just have to have someone up in the states deal with it for you.

bajamigo - 6-16-2008 at 10:17 AM

Ther's also a Baja Sur Craig's List:

I see a lot of music gear become available here on the CL in Tijuana as well as San Diego. I will keep an eye out for a banjo and forward them to you. If you see one that interests you I can pick it up and get it sent down by Burro Express...
