During the cooking segment, the guest chef took a big bowl and put a slightly smaller one inside, leaving a gap of about three inches.

He filled the big bowl 1/2 to 3/4 full with water, then inserted rose petals all around and then added more water.

When frozen, the end result is a decorative ice block bowl for table presentation.

I started imagining representative Baja ice bowl. Red and green chiles came to mind, with maybe a habanero sorbet inside.

How about the rest of you Baja loving creative minds, what would you put into your ice bowl?

Pacifico

bajajudy - 6-18-2008 at 03:11 PM

Right, guy....you could freeze bottle caps in a decorative design and fill it with Pacifico and lime slices.

Mint for Mojitos

Pineapple for Pina coladas.

I Wanna Iguana?

Hey, why not? I have been told that it tastes like chicken.

Just what parts would you put in the ice and what parts in the bowl?

Diver - 6-18-2008 at 06:28 PM

Kinda like the college kids who, after losing an election, froze a disection cat in a 5 gallon bucket of koolaide and then floated it in an adversary's garbage can full of sangria at their coronation party.:no::barf::biggrin:

Gypsy Jan,

As I was thinking of suggesting little plastic farm animals to celebrate a ride in the Sierra de San Francisco Bob and Susan's post of this creature popped into my slightly twisted mind-- I just couldn't resist mixing the threads.

But to answer the question, I sort of saw him whole, and encased in the ice, perhaps biting his own tail.

I'd better stop now, I'm starting to sound like some of those certain nomads....

Breathe deeply, center.

Ignore the voices, focus on the horizon.

Think of kittens and unicorns.

You will be OK.

Thanks, Jan.
