Think you have picked an area where nobody ever goes...

The road to Canoas is fine, although there's a few mile stretch of those extremely dusty silt/chalk beds to choke your way thru, which might not be fun if you have a trailer...some of them can be a bit deeply rutted by the time summertime rolls around....better after winter rains have packed them down. Never launched a boat myself, but the pescadors use pangas there, so don't know why you couldn't.....just make sure you launch by the fish camp in the bay--the road at the point is pretty narrow(thru a canyon) to get down to the beach.

do you know how far it is from mex 1 to the bay. Is it true that there are fossils in some of the wash's that need to be crossed if so where? Any information is greatly welcomed.
thanks

Its probably around 45 miles to Canoas--2 to 3 hoursdepending on road conditions. I've never noticed fossils there, but Santa Catarina has some nearby I think.....

we pulled a boat in there in 95 and its really not worth it, go to santa rosallita instead as its only ten miles in and you can access alot of the areas north from there. canoas gets very windy with few places to get out of it in a boat and the camping there is very exposed. the fishing from shore is not that great unless you go south and make sure you bring in everything you need because there is nothing out there. good luck:coolup:

over the New Year. I remember some rather silty (dusty) spots on the road out there. We didn't have any worries about that, or any other part of the trail, as I drive a LAND CRUISER. Nothing could have stopped us.
