It's a busy week in baja as the kids are graduating from their schools...kinder,primaria,secundaria y prepa. I attended my neice and nephews grad
ceremony and was so proud of my nephew Noe (who many of you know and love)who won first prize in academics with a PERFECT average...100%! Here he is
receiving his award from the dignitaries.
It was a lovely ceremony with fokloric dancing, the students did a waltz, recited poetry and received their diplomas. They also set up a neat display
of petrified sharks teeth and arrowheads found in the area. After that we were treated to an amazing seafood c-cktail with abalone, lions paw scallops

but the best part of the day was that our dear amigo Manolo was there to see his son Ismael graduate. It was the first time he attended a public
function after surviving a nearly fatal accident a few months ago. He's looking much better and getting stronger every day. this is the family,
Manolo, Minni, Ismael and the padrinos.

Our son, Cabo Guillermo graduated from 4th grade last night here in Elias Calles from Simon Bolivar School. He graduated top in his class for the 3rd
year in a row. Lidia and I are very proud parents.

My son graduated from 9th grade with a perfect 100 as well. The ceremony included a 1 hour mass then a three hour delivery of speeches from every
teacher, principal, and probably even the janitor. 4 hours total in a small room with no air conditioning! I was upset to say the least but wouldn't
show it. It was his day. This is a private school here in Ensenada. I pay top dollar for his education and the school is run down, needs paint and

Oh my...here the speeches were few and short and the ceremony outdoors with a nice breeze blowing. Tomorrow Sirenita graduates from the Prepa and then

As a teacher for nearly thirty years here in the Northwest US, I congratulate all of the young men and women who have worked hard and moved forward in
their education. I wish them well in their futures and thank them for setting good examples for their peers. I hope to soon live among these
successful individuals and maybe help them and their children prosper. Again, Congratulations!

Oh goodie, we got a bragging thread. My granddaughter Nikeesha was first in her fifth-grade class at a public school in La Paz. She alternates one
