Dropped into Mexicali last evening at 6pm and could not find diesel anywhere drove towards San Felipe and then back towards Hwy 5 towards toll road,
nada 9 stops no tengo nada. Finally gave up and went to Los Arcos to eat and have a few beers (two) with dinner. Hope others do not need it on their
way to 4th of July fun times. Plenty of gas but diesel game goes on and on. It is due to government subs on it and being at a cost lower than gas.
They just need to limit it to no more than 50 gallons for each fill-up and stop the nonesense. Everyone of these stations had diesel but were saying
they did not. One that I have been going to for the last 3 years the service station worker basically let me know they are being told to not sell at
times that Premex officials say so no questions asked and no statements given. Nobody is going to risk their jobs or Mexican retirement with Premex
to sell to other for a bribe either. So, take heed Nomads and be aware the pumps are still on and off at the whim of officials nobody identifies. By
the way the meal at Los Arcos was great as usual and the Pacifico was cold along with a collllllllld mug!!! Life can have bumps in the roads but
still have nice things along the way, not going to let this upset me but wish they would just say do not even think about getting fuel right now. I
will still go eat, shop, and get medical/dental care when I need it in Mexicali but it was nice to be able to also get my fuel while down there. Any

Now, Now how come nobody is saying if they have been having the same experience in towns on the border?? Is there diesel or not in your border town
and if so is it only sold at certain times during the day. In Mexicali it seems the open times for buying when they sell it is very restricted and
hard to keep up with. So, Si or No have you been seeing some kind of moving of times to sell, saying sold out and not, etc, etc, etc. Just trying to
get a better picture of what is going on and thinking Premex is malipulating how the stations sell and the off and on again switch. Thanks,

You need to remember, only commercial vehicles in Mexico are diesel - no diesels for privately owned vehicles. The subsidy is intended to assist the

Ok, I can understand that so why not give their truckers and bus transportation certain pumps assigned to just them at the subsidies level and then
sell at the other pumps (have at least 2 pumps) for the tourist which they can sell at $3 dollars a gallon and everyone still wins. Again, the Baja

Mexico that I have had for over 22 years and spend my fair share of "gringo dollars" into their communities. This is just wrong the way they are
doing it. The U.S. has the red diesel that farmers and farm products buy with no sales tax and is about $1.50 a gallon cheaper than in the cheapest
price gas station. Mexico needs to think out of the box instead of sticking its head in the sand. Later------------- bajafun777

diesel Pick-ups on the roads with Mexican plates?
In the last year I have seen dozens.In fact one fueled at the same time as I did a week ago in San Felipe.

But see families in them and up till about a year ago, I never saw a diesel pick-up , unless it had U.S. plates .

All of this "Reportage" over who has diesel when seems a little silly and useless.
Any information "might" be good for that morning or afternoon given the inconsistent nature of the supply line.
Plan accordingly and carry enough or don't go.

Bajalou, I have seen many trucks in Mexicali, San Luis, San Felipe, and a number on the way down the mainland. These were not commerical trucks and
remember when gas was cheaper here in the States than in Mexico, well when mexicans came over here to get gas and diesel we said nothing and did not
limit them. I guess it just goes to say if they limit us then my trips down south will be limited as will my spending there. Hope it will not be the

No diesel in Maneadero as of 12:30 today. The Pemex in El Sauzel expected to be out by noon today.
