While many are going across the border into Baja to fill up their tanks.... here's what gas costs are globally. We have it here really cheap - still!

This link is from May 6th, when avg price of gas in US was $3.45/gallon....

Cheapest is in Venezuela at 12-cents a gallon
Most expensive is in Sierre Leone at $18.62/gallon!

A barrel of crude oil is 42 gallons. You've got heavy crude, lots of wax. :D You've got sweet crude, less sulfur.:D It all boils down to about 20 gallons of gasoline/barrel, 7 gallons of diesel/barrel, 5.5 gallons of jet fuel/barrel, the rest is lube oil, asphalt, fuel oil, coke, etc.:D And it's all going to the highest bidder.:D

Interesting numbers. Does this mean you get either 20 gals of gas,7 gals diesel, and 5.5 jet fuel /barrel or all of these quantities out of the 42 gallons (using 32.5 gallons of the 42)with the rest going to asphalt etc? If only one of the three choices can be had out of a barrel it is amazing diesel and jet fuel aren't much more expensive than gasoline since the yield is so much lower than gasoline.

Plastic products... don't forget about plastic!

LancairDriver, A 42 gallon barrel of oil will yeild, on the average, a combination of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other "by products". :D The barrel of oil is as fully utilized as possible in the refinement process.:D
