Dia de Reyes 2007

tripledigitken - 7-14-2008 at 11:23 AM

This yearly event organized by FDT and his family, raises toys for needy children in Northern Baja. I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures of the event.

SO WHATS UP FOR 2009???

Thanks Ken for bringing up the Dia de Reyes Baja Nomad Toy Drive because it's going to be time very soon to start planning 2009. It will be on Saturday January 03 since kids start school on Jan 07 wednesday or if it's ok with those interested in personaly participating it can be on the 10th. The official Dia de Reyes is Jan 06, but will be on a tuesday.
Location is what we need to decide on, 1st event was in Tijuana, 2nd was in Esteban Cantu. There are needy kids all over so it's a matter of organizing them as a group and get a number.
This all started as an idea between Doug and myself in 2006 and I hope it continues for many years.
Muchas gracias

FDT, you did a fantastic job organizing the Punta Banda Dia de Reyes, with immediate and ongoing help from too many Nomads to mention. BB2005 and I will help out with the next one, wherever it is. Keep it up, amigo.

Here are a few pics from the 2008 fiesta:

In the "credit where credit is due" department...

While we did in fact meet and have this be a topic of conversation... the idea amigo - as well as an incredible amount of significant follow-through since then - has been from you!

(Not to mention the incredible support network of family and Nomad friends you've brought together for this special day each year now too)

My part in that original conversation was the easy part - saying "that sounds awesome - what can I do to help?"

:smug:

It would be an understatement to say that I applaud your desire, plan, and follow-through in order to bring a memorable moment of joy into the lives of so many others.

Regards,
