Proof of Mexican humor

I'll have to set this up for you so you'll understand the subtlety of this news article in "El Mexicano". As you know, Mexicans are hoping for a drop in the crime rates and look for any good news on that front. So here is this article and the title is a sarcastic dig at the Baja crime rate numbers. It starts out with seeming good news, and then lets you down at the end:

"BAJA EL NIVEL DE CRIMINALIDAD, PERO EN SAN DIEGO"

CRIME RATE DROPS, BUT IN SAN DIEGO"

http://el-mexicano.info/nota.aspx?idNota=312015&esSecc=t...

SAN DIEGO.- El nivel de criminalidad en San Diego se mantienen a uno de los niveles más bajos de su historia, comparables con los de la década de los sesentas, según fue confirmado por el alcalde de la ciudad, Jerry Sanders.

SAN DIEGO - The crime rate in San Diego remains at one of the lowest levels in its history, comparable to the 1960's, as confirmed by Mayor Jerry Sanders.

Just as in the US, the Mexican newspapers get readers comments, and some are wiseacres. The reader's comment to this news article is:

Los criminales no quieren gastar gasolina por eso se quedan en casa y operan en internet.

The criminals don't want to waste any gasoline so they stay at home and operate via the internet.

Virtual Cartel (a new game from Parker Brothers)

Awesome :lol::lol::lol:

We could have virtual cartels :lol::lol::lol:

And all of the battles could be done on a RISK game platform.

It would sure cut down on the bloodshed.

Good news indeed.
