RAIN!!!!!!!!

oldlady - 7-18-2008 at 05:00 AM

Not that spitting, drop here and there stuff.

Here, in Centenario, it's the real deal. Thunder, lightening, dog's trying to hide under the bed and plants smiling and power fluctuation! Who could ask for anything more?

Have a good one everyone!

Russ - 7-18-2008 at 06:08 AM

Lots of wind last night to 40mph and cloudy but no drops yet.

bajatorres - 7-18-2008 at 06:34 AM

Perros y gatos here in BuenaVista since 6am. Wind started at 3am. Thunder and lightening, too. Dog is in the shower.

Don Alley - 7-18-2008 at 06:47 AM

Loreto...no rain yet.

Forecast called for light winds. We launched the boat just after 6AM. Wind. Rough outside the marina. We gave up. FUBARed at the ramp trying to get the boat out in the LOW tide, providing entertainment for the large group watching at the ramp. Think I'll nap all day, fish Sunday.

Still might rain, maybe.

CaboRon - 7-18-2008 at 07:01 AM

Send some of that rain over here to Todos Santos, please.

Old Lady: I would like to see your little one trying to get under the bed!!!!!

We can hear the thunder, see the lightning over towards La Ribera, but so far just sprinkles here in Agua Caliente.

It's wonderfully cool, though!

oldlady - 7-18-2008 at 07:48 AM

Hi ling!

 Since you know the dogs, you know the operative word was "trying".

Still raining, cool breeze...what I call a "snuggly' day...rare in Baja, for all of its virtues.

Fair winds,
ol

About a 1/4" so far this morning, and surprisingly, the electricity has stayed on. Radar shows more on the way:

My panga has a foot of water in it from this morning's pounding. It's a big system and I think it will water the whole southern part of the peninsula. Then hurricane Fausto is cordially invited to drop some more in about a week and green the place up like it was a Mexican Hawaii. Can you say "selva"?

rpleger - 7-18-2008 at 08:42 AM

Overcast in Mulegé...no rain yet...sure need some...

bajajudy - 7-18-2008 at 08:47 AM

We have dark skies, thunder and sprinkles, barely enough to wet the ground so far. Our sensor lights on the patio are on, so it is pretty dark here.
The seas were relatively calm on my morning walk.

CaboRon - 7-18-2008 at 08:50 AM

0940 .... It started raining in Todos Santos ... and not wimpy drops either, but real rain. :bounce:

It was pouring in Los Barriles from about 4 am on till about 9 am.... big wind at 3 am. The new concrete streets/ spillway work...... just sprinkling now, 10:30 am

Natalie Ann - 7-18-2008 at 09:21 AM

So.... I want to see the rain actually falling on my Paceno friends. I click on the bookmark for the La Paz live webcam... and consistently get a message that it doesn't exist at this address. Dang!

Anyone know if that live camera is still precariously perched above the corner of Ocampo & Bravo? If so, do ya have a working i-net address for it?

Thanks,
Nena

fdt - 7-18-2008 at 09:57 AM

Here you go Natalie Ann, when it opens up, to the right on ¿Que desea monitorear? choose "Interior de la republica. Then were it says ¿De que zona? choose Baja California Sur and finaly on camaras Ocampo y Altamirano.

It's raining here at the airport in San Jose and it is pouring.......

shari - 7-18-2008 at 11:57 AM

slightly overcast in Asuncion and cool...great day for construction. The fishermen are hauling their pangas out and fishing has been suspended as the surf is due to increase over the next few days....Club Jurjos...surfers...are smiling!

Natalie Ann - 7-18-2008 at 01:01 PM

Oh thank you, Fernando, for that live cam address (and the actual street address correction). That camera is a part of my Baja history. When I would house sit in El Centenario for 3 months during the summer, my girlfriend and I would stand on the corner beneath that camera at a set time and wave to my husband. Silly, but always seemed a fun thing to do at the time.;D:dudette:

Also Ferna - is that a 'live' picture you posted of the upper Malecon in La Paz?
If so, how'd you do that?

Nena

Enjoying the overcast and cooler weather---the weather we like. But hoping if we get any rain, it is not much---this place can't handle much rain.

Surf is loud---love listening to it.

I'm thinking it must be like a Budweiser Clydesdale trying to hide under the bed. But then was there room for Suckydoo under there too?
