Today's local news roundup

These are just some local news items in today's Mexican papers about Americans in Baja. I've summarized the story, not translated it. I've posted the links if you want to read them in Spanish.

1. An American woman died when she fell off the 3rd floor balcony of the Plaza del Mar condo's in Rosarito last night about 9PM. No foul play is reported. Apparently the woman was drunk and was with her husband. She had just asked him, "What would you so without me?" just before she fell.

2. An American named Adán Angulo parked at a "customers only" parking spot at a pharmacy near the San Ysidro border. Two private security guards working at the pharmacy told him they were police and demanded 600 pesos to not tow his car away. he bargained them down to 200 pesos and said he was going to get change for a 500 peso note. The American called 066 and the real cops came and arrested the security guards for extortion.

He is just expressing what many of us have felt when dealing with Baja tradesmen :lol::lol::lol:

It's a good thing they don't alow me to have a weapon

Hey, you can't dicipline them (or they become passive-agressive) if they screw up you have to pay them to fix it, and if you try to fire them for bad work , well, you might as well try to move that mountain:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

If the husband was the only one in the room when she went off the balcony the police better polygraph him before they let him go. Sounds suspicious to me!
