Sixty-two in September and for the first time, happy about being another year older----it means we get a raise in income. Social Security, here I come!:yes:

Well, actually every birthday is worth celebrating just because we made another birthday.

comitan - 7-23-2008 at 02:41 PM

cabobaja - 7-23-2008 at 03:02 PM

Taco de Baja - 7-23-2008 at 03:07 PM

Looks like about 75% of us are over 50 (I'm 64). That sure explains all the cranky posts recently with so many suggestions about how Mexico needs to change. Personally I'm not buying into that crap. I enjoyed Baja when I first went there 34 years ago and enjoy it still. I hope to be riding my old KLR650 around the back country for years to come, I'm showing my optimism right now by doing another engine rebuild on that 17 year old machine as well as putting a second rebuilt engine in reserve. Should keep me going till I'm 80 or so. For the record, in those 34 years of Baja travel I have had nothing stolen from me, never paid a mordida and only one traffic ticket. Been shot at but never in Mexico.

dtbushpilot - 7-23-2008 at 03:55 PM

54 but my beautiful wife makes me feel like 34.
and we both love Baja just how it is.

47, but with the emotional maturity of a 17-year old, if I'm lucky. You would think that those 30 years in between would have led to better judgment, but all they did was enable me to make bad decisions in a much more educated and experienced fashion.

Ay que bola de pedos viejos! Grover, you're obviously into something here. I'm 63, the first wave to get screwed out of a year of SS. I''ll have to wait till 66 to apply for full benefits.

Paula - 7-23-2008 at 07:59 PM

OK fine. I'm 63, and next you'll be asking how much we all weigh! And I'm not telling!!!

When I turned 50 I figured I was half way through my life, and now I think that with luck I'll get another 20 or so. I think that means I've misplaced 17 of my years:o So if anyone sees some stray years lying around on a beach or in the mountains they belong to me. Please send them to me in Loreto.

Wow! Surprisingly, I'm the only one in my 20's and Asian (I'll bet I'm also the only Asian on this board) so I look even younger. If you see a younger Asian out on a run in Ensenada, that's probably me.

Oh, I finally made it to Fenix 2 weeks ago.

I was the only non-Mexican there too. Big surprise.:O

At 63-64 life is good and is getting better everyday. I think there is a better way to live life...(been around the Internet awhile but)
I want to live my next life backwards:

You start out dead and get that out of the way.

Then you wake up in a nursing home feeling better every day. Then you get
kicked out for being too healthy.

Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.

Then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work
40 years until you're too young to work.

You get ready for High School, drink alcohol, party, and you're generally
obnoxious.

Then you go to elementary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have
no responsibilities.

Then you become a baby, and then......... You spend your last 9 months
floating peacefully in luxury,

in Spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap, and
then............. You finish off as an orgasm.

I rest my case

Bajabus - 7-23-2008 at 09:35 PM

All right, so I'm half way through the 60's, but I'm always shocked and surprised to find I'm not 24...actually, I think it's better to tell people I'm older than I am, so they'll say "wow, I can't believe it, you are in great shape for 70"!

Now, all of us are really one year older than we think---maybe.

I come up with a funny one every once in a while.

Problem is that linguinelinguine can recite all my best jokes. She still laughs though. Must be why we've been married for so long.

Reminds me of one of my best jokes when someone asks:

"How long have you two been married?"

Gazing lovingly into wife's eyes, "Seems like 20 minutes ..................... under water."

Well currently now the Nickle Nickle age but I hope that my next 20 are just half as exciting as my first 55 were. I have done some things that were fun and very close to being trouble and then did them again just to see if they really were as fun as I first thought.
