I don't have any knowledge of body searches in Baja, but last year while on a northbound bus near Sinaloa/Sonora border I was given a full pat down at a military checkpoint. I was the only one on the bus that was searched although they opened most of the luggage on board.

Over the years, in Baja or on the Mainland, we have always found the bus searches to be more inclusive--most luggage inspected, and once everyone was patted down.

Lately, we have been going back and forth to Bahia Asuncion about every month to 6 weeks. Searches have been very minimal---most complete was just climbing in the back of the truck and looking in the ice chest and duffle bags,

Even the the front of the truck, sometimes they open a couple of compartments or mess us the stuffing between the front and back seats (stuffing for dog comfort ) We have NOT had them ask to see anything in pockets, purses, etc.

At the stop just south of Encenada, they are using a detector---not sure what it is. But they take about 3 vehicles at a time and while walking quite slowly, the soldier walks around the vehicles with the detector---a black canister with what looks like an antanna pointing strait out the front.

Sometimes, we are just asked where we have been, where we are going, and are not even stopped.

Just our recent experiences----can't speak for everyone. Would be curious to know if anyone has been body searched.

Saturday going north at the check out of La Paz had about 5 min wait for vehicle searches, they waved us through, coming back about 4:30 there was at least 3/4 mile of vehicles waiting.

So do you WANT the body search or not, Skeet ??
What's your point ? Carrying some drugs or guns ?

Or maybe an ancient fishing rod to sell for high dollars ?

You travel with chickens?? Yes, I've seen busses with chicks in cages on the top.

How do you transport a chick?

In a jar of peanut butter so the drug dogs don't eat it.
