Von, fish in the SOC are very hard to figure. No freeze frame possible, no future predictions will work. What world class old timers just caught this PM won't tell you about your chances in the AM. Best wait until you see a boat pulling up to the beach near where you plan to fish, see what they used, what they caught. That's as close as you're gonna get to a guesstimate.

Some yellowtail. Bet it's hot there.

Osprey is right, by the time you get there what's happening now won't matter.

Best be flexible, in methods, destinations, or expectations.... Take a light outfit for triggerfish.

Von,

I can tell by your post that you're itching to get down here. Like Osprey said, you never can bet on what you'll catch tomorrow by today's cleaning table, BUT, they are pulling in Yellowtail as well as nice sized Cabrilla, and the usual bottom fish, Trigger etc. Your dinner table will be full.
We usually check out the Diaz cleaning table every afternoon. Maybe we'll see you there.
The weather has been fabulous.
Safe journeys,
P y D

hi back from bahia on saturday, there were yellows, but super early in the am(not alotta birds working after), caught one yellow like ten pounds.(trolling on the way to animas, not nessarily looking for yellows) when we were actually actively looking for yellows on the north side of smith (coronado to some) we caught not a one, but lots of lingcod and cabrilla. but the waters warming up, whale shark and the like...should be perfect soon!!!
hope i helped

Alfredo Diaz's panga brought in a 50 lb bull dorado today, as well as numerous other fish. Another panga had 17 yellowtail.

You can be here and visit the fish cleaning tables for current conditions, OR you can refer on outdated reports.

You'll catch fish.

Dorado grow very fast, 2"/week, one of the fastest growth rates known among fish. Can reach sexual maturity in 7 weeks and weigh 40 pounds in less than a year. They are also known to travel 80 miles with 24 hrs.

What type of lure do you use for whale sharks?
