Family Fishing Fun in Asuncion

shari - 7-27-2008 at 08:26 PM

It's so great when families come on their summer holidays....especially when they ALL love to fish. All 7 had a great time and caught a bunch of calico and white fish which got made into a jumbo ceviche to feed this clan. Tomorrow they go surfing with Sirenita and spearfishing halibut in San Roque in the afternoon. What better way to spend your days in baja with your family?

Juan's panga is looking pretty spiffy after he fixed her up and painted her real nice.

Yesterday the torinoso family kept us really busy...they took the quads out to Los Chorros for a surf session then Juan showed them some secret spearfishing spots in San Roque and Scotty got his first halibut...he was sooo excited, they are going back for more today! The ladies spent the afternoon boogie boarding...then we cooked up that halibut! too much fun...

the guy on the left, what's in his left hand?????

your secret halibut spot is gonna be empty if you don't tell folks to let the babies live.....

yes woody...ahem...the kid in the middle is just learning to spearfish...his first time with halibut...and that is the little guy he got in the tail...they look bigger underwater and he figured that out as he went, but it would have died anyway so they kept it and ate it too...but Juan taught them to leave the little brothers alone...thank you for your concern.

Wow, I love the taste of fresh cooked fish and halibut is one of my favorite ones.

Shari...you're driving me crazy

What with Red Snapper selling for $16.00 a kilo in the market here, and Halibut at $11.00 a pound.

YOU FORCE ME TO GET EVEN.

I went "fishing" in my garden yesterday. Here's the catch.

Last night's peach and raspberry cobbler was, shall we say, just OK.:o:lol:

The baking sheet has quick frozen berries ready to be vacuum sealed to join pounds of their buddies in the freezer.:saint:

I will gladly trade my vacuum packed bag of halibut steaks for a package of rasberries...imagine my waffles with those babies on em!!!

Oooooooo...waffles!

When Cathy and I make our next opportunity to run to San Nicolas' we'll have to bring a couple of bags to contribute to the feast!
