Book trade, Cabo?

vandy - 7-29-2008 at 01:57 PM

I have read all of my paperbacks/hardcover books.
Is there any place that or person that would like to trade popular fiction in the Cabo/La Paz area?

No romance novels please, ladies...
Thanks!

Not sure about La Paz or Cabo, but if you're ever in Todos Santos, El Tecolote bookstore will do a 2 for 1 trade on paperbacks. Also in TS, at Cafe Brown, they keep quite a collection of paperbacks that you can take or leave at your leisure.

I also started using El tecolote since my move from La Paz.

If you are in La Paz , just join Club Crucerous at the Marina de La Paz ... in the clubhouse you can exchange books.

Spider Web in San Jose does trades. It is located behind Blockbuster across from MacDonalds, next to Mega.

Barb, Misty and I have a bunch of paperbacks to trade, lets get together and swap.

If you are ever in La Paz, Club Cruceros at Marina De La Paz has a book exchange in their club house, and it is a nice size.

What kind of books are you after? Novels? Non-fiction? I have cases of stuff left from an Eng Lit degree (some great, some mind-numbing) plus miscellaneous stuff gathered over the years.

We are an hour out of La Paz on the Pacific (do yourself a favor and visit - it's great!) or we could meet on a "pilot" swap in La Paz, but need book type guidance.

eBook Readers??

Seems like an eBook reader like Amazon's Kindle is the perfect solution for expatriots in Mexico. Obviously the free Sprint 3G broadband download connection won't work, it's US only, but you can use the Internet to download eBooks and then do a USB transfer to the reader.

Is anybody using the Kindle or Sony's eBook reader? If so, how do you like it?

Thank you all for the great info! I've used Spiderweb in SJD.
Next stop, La Paz and Todos Santos.

As far as Ebooks go, I'd rather not be trying to read a laptop while relaxing on the beach...
