Now that Volaris has taken over the TIJ-LAP route effective 8/1/08, they are offering heavy promotional discounts: $160 USD/ RT TIJ-LAP, from August
through November.
As an aside, several spanish language press outlets are hinting that the head of the government agency that shut Aerocalifornia down is a good friend
of the CEO of Volaris.

Wiley - I totally agree with you. It's just curious that Aerocalifornia was shut down on 7/24, and Volaris had already picked up the route four days
later, with the same time slot. That't not even enough time for a check to clear the bank. I think everyone must have known in advance that this was
going to be the final nail in the coffin.

Grupo TACA (the national airline of El Salvador), and
Protego Discovery Fund.
Each of these partners invested 25% of the initial cost of activities

Two items unverifiable:
- Aerocalifornia at the end was nothing but a shell - planes leased (even the jet engines were rented from GE), property under different ownerships,
basic assets some outmoded reservation PCs and trucks.
- a rumor that the Alemans (the ex-Presidents family who owns Ballandra, amongst other huge properties) was going to pick up AeroCalifornia.
