Sentri Directions

rayfornario - 8-10-2008 at 03:03 PM

I just recieved my vehicle sentri and was wondering if anyone could give me good written directions to the Vehicle Sentri at San Ysidro. I did see the excellent visual directions but need something I can keep ion my glove comaprtment.
Also directions to the Otay sentri lane may be helpful when San Ysidro is slammed.
I got lost coming back from the toll road and had to use the regular vehicle line(@#$%^&;)
Thanks!

Well, this probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but the police open and close various access points to SENTRI based on the number of cars backed up, so you need to become familiar with the streets in that area to deal with it. If you get lost, ask someone how to get to the Via Rapida going towards San Diego - one way or another you'll get there. Keep in mind that even SENTRI can be 45 minutes to an hour at peak periods.

When you approach the San Ysidro crossing FROM the west, stay in the lane one to the right of the ones that go to the border. It's separated from the others by concrete dividers and is the lane that goes to Colonia Federal.

Stay in that lane until you come to a traffic circle, at the circle make a U-turn, sounds funny but you'll see.

Stay on the that road keeping to the right (important), you'll go under an overpass. Immediately after the overpass make a left turn and you're in the Sentri lane.

There are many ways to get to the Sentri lanes. Others will tell you different routes.

I have no idea what the best route is at rush hour.
