Sirenita...newest Ensenada Nomad

shari - 8-12-2008 at 07:37 AM

Last week we took Sirenita to her new digs in Ensenada and were warmly welcomed by some punta banda nomads. She started University at UABC studying Marine Sciences. So anyone needing odd jobs like dog sitting, translations, guide etc...U2U her or me for her number. Also anyone who has any old furniture they want to pass on...her casita is empty and could use some..she has a matress on the floor so if someone with a truck could help her find a frame at a segunda, that would be awesome.
Also anyone needing assistance for any reason can contact her there too. We wish you all the best Sirenita...cuidate mucho.

Good luck Sirenita on your college studies... you can do it!

boe4fun - 8-12-2008 at 09:04 AM

Hi Shari, When my son finished his schooling and moved to Mississippi he left some smaller items in our attic. I'll check out what's available and U2U a list. You can U2U me back and I'll drop it off on my next trip down (latter September). Sounds like Serinita made a great choice for a carreer. Paul Boe

Nice pad! We will call and hopefully visit when we get to Ensenada.

Kell-Baja - 8-12-2008 at 01:33 PM

I like the colors too. I am a lil jealous of her though, what a great experience. I guess I should have listened to my parents years ago.

Serenita, That's a unique name and a pretty young lady. Congratulations Shari and Juan. Know how it feels to give a child a hug, a kiss and wish 'em luck. I'm thinking she'll do fine and make her parents and her Nomad family proud.

Iflyfish - 8-12-2008 at 05:05 PM

What a great looking pad! Nice colors indeed. Our best to you in your studies, both on and off campus.

You've chosen a great field of study, Serenita--best of luck to you!

beachbum1a is a neighbor of Sirenita's. I'm sure that when he gets back from reducing the fish population around Mulege and reads this post, he'll step up.

Hi Shari, I u2u sirenita but haven't heard anything from her.

Keri - 8-12-2008 at 08:41 PM

I still have 2 days available for work and I do have a couple of pieces of furniture. Contact me if interested.k:yes:

Hello Sirenita and Shari,
I have a small mobile computer workstation that I think would be perfect for a student casita. It is on coasters and has a footprint of about 2x2 1/2 feet. Please let me know if you are interested and I will bring it down when I come to Ensenada the week of August 24.
Silke

I Wish You the Best

Your first years of independent living and learning can shape the framework for the rest of your life - and perhaps, forge lifelong friendships.

Have a wonderful time (and don't forget that time passes very quickly - cherish all the good moments).

Saludos and Bienvenidos,
GJ

Absolutelymenty! Latest email I got from Sirenita said she just got her ISP back up so was out of touch for a few. Still trying to figure out how close we are (as neighbors).
Regardless, if you need a truck or a helping hand I will be returning to Ensenada on 9/1 so just let me know.
PS the fish population in Mulege had nothing to worry about this last trip! Too many things went wrong to get a decent days fishing in! :(

Sirenita and Shari,
Wish I had some furniture to share, but, all extras were sold when I moved here last year. You are fortunate to enjoy Ensenada while studying. And you have a great neighbor and newly adopted rich uncle in Beachbum 1A.

I missed the fun wine tasting 2 weeks ago. Looked like a high brow event!

shari - 8-15-2008 at 02:12 PM

oh goody...sirena needs a rich uncle!! So the next c-cktail party will be at your place then Dock!

bajadock - 8-15-2008 at 03:06 PM

Shari,
Looks like BB05 and BA might put up their place for sacrifice on August 29(see BajaSedoso thread).

As my sign says, I'm always open for food & beverage, watching an athletic competition on our establishment's 50+ sports channels or just watching the waves.

SiReNiTa - 8-17-2008 at 09:40 AM

hi everyone!!! oh my gosh my mom told be about this thread but i never thought it would be this big!! first of all i want to thank everyone tons and seriously without help from alot of people as nice and supporting as you are this would not have been possible...second i have not gotten any u2u's since for some reason i havenot been able to get in to nomad until today but still no new u2u's inmy inbox...i hope i can get in from now on that was pretty wierd...oh yeah!!! and before i launch in to the school thing i want to put out an invite to all of you to go to the bar i work at saturday morning/afternoon it's baja shots...it's great fun all the guys that work there are awsome! so yeah come on down and hang out there!!! i'm there saturday from 10 to 6!!
ok now here is the update from my schooool!!!!
all the teachers are really cool, my class mates are really crazy but also very nice people, my classes are looking really interesting even tho it's tons of work...i have only been in university 5 days and i have already handed in 3 papers (10 to 30 pages each) 4 investigations on fish, plants and tides, and some math stuff!!!! and i still havehomework for next week!!!!!!!!!!!! but it's ok because it's really interesting stuff and it's a challenge that i love! our campus is beautiful, nothing fancylike USD but it's got everything a marine ciences student could want...aquarium, every kind of lab you can imagine, really good equipment for a public school, and it has some kind of um....acuerdo with scripps (SIO) andwe haveour own IIO (instituto de investigaciones oceanologicas) where the invesigators, students and teachers fo projects and investigate to raise money for the school!! so it's pretty self sufficient...i amreally happy with myschool!! i hope i can contagiar that emotion to everyone so that you can feel it also!!! this is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shari - 8-17-2008 at 09:58 AM
