I would ether go with the Baja Cactus or make it on to G.N. it is only 2 more hours

vandenberg - 8-12-2008 at 10:07 AM

I vote with Bruce.
If you get to El Rosario around 2 pm. you should make G.N. easily before sundown.

The place you are talking about is Linda's and it is not bad at all and they do accept dogs.

They are doing a little remodeling----It is VERY basic, clean but in the summer, very hot---they do have fans, however. We tend to stay there other times of the year for the most part. Last time was earlier this year.

They have a little basic restaurant that was not bad. Oh, they are very nice people and we will stay there again.

In Guerrero Negro we stay at Las Ballenas and they accept the dogs---we are always careful with putting our own covers on the beds.

Again, VERY basic, and the nicest family.

Good Luck always interested in hearing about another place that will accept dogs.

question about place in gn. we pull a utility trailer loaded to the hilt. is there secure parking? dont want anyone stealing my candels. must have ambiance.

roundtuit, Guerrero Negro has a couple of places to park your rig and spend the night. Carracoles is one, excuse my spelling. They lock the gate after hours. You and your utility trailer will be safe.

Diane------what do you mean by "put our own covers on the bed"??? What type of "covers" do you use? This is a new one on me, so I am really serious.

sheets...

roundtuit - 8-12-2008 at 03:43 PM

They have no way to clean the comforters so we cover the bed with sheets to protect their beds from dog hair:light::light::light:

Dogs in (ex) La Pinta, Cataviña

Marla Daily - 8-12-2008 at 07:21 PM

We always stay at (ex) La Pinta in Cataviña when we need to stop for the night. Dogs are welcomed—our two dogs have stayed there with us dozens of times—no problem. If you have an FM3 (or FM2), you can apply for a "La Pinta Savings Travel Card" at any of their hotels and you will be issued a permanent plastic card. With it, their room rates are 1/3 to 1/2 off!! Can't beat THAT deal! La Pinta hotels are less than a days drive apart down the peninsula. Always works for us, our dogs, and our budget. We even use the card in Loreto for reserving rooms for overflow of visiting friends in Loreto.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does the (ex) mean?

Hey Ron and Kathy......

Linday's isn't too bad for the $250 pesos-clean! but simple...the fans DO GO OFF when the gen goes off at midnight....jus so u know. As you can park right in front of your room, being the Great Baja Travelers that you are, run a cord from your truck battery to your bed and have 12 volt fans all night. Worked for us:lol: See ya in Oct??? at Posada

vacaenbaja - 8-12-2008 at 10:44 PM

NowI ALWAYS take a sleeping bag on my road trips. Never used to until that one time I brought along a black light and checked the linen....walls....etc. Even in " clean looking places.

thanks for all your help. jim, we will be there the 6th. cant wait. will e-mail you about opening for us. the thing with the sheets is some dogs get on the bed and leave dog hair. as antonio explained to us he has to take comforters to ensenada to wash so please keep dogs off the bed. sheets on top of the comforter keep the dog hair problem in check.
