Hot off the press. The latest, hottest rumor in Cabo is that John Travolta landed his Eclipse 707 at the Cabo (not the Los Cabos) airport, had a limo
come to pick him up and ran afoul of the taxistas -- those devils that have almost shut San Lucas down to tourism by barracading any tourist vehicle
at hotels, making them take taxis to town, the airport, etc.
Travolta left in a huff, said "I'm selling my Cabo house. I'm outta here."Udo - 8-20-2008 at 07:33 PM
I'LL HAVE MY PEOPLE
contact my cousin, whom will in turn contact Tarvolta's people, and maybe we can work out a deal!
Getting Around Cabo
thefishaholic - 8-20-2008 at 10:29 PM
We will be down thru April. Is there a problem with using our Harley to go to stores, etc? Great for finding parking.motoged - 8-20-2008 at 11:15 PM
Fish,
I hear that 80% of Harleys ever made are still on the road....
......the other 20% made it home
You can take it to the store, but you might need your pick-up to get it home...:CaboRon - 8-21-2008 at 05:14 AM

The taxi cartels will make you put the bike in the back of the van and ride with them.

the Cabo airport MMSL cannot handle a 707. this has to be BS?
1. length
2. weight
3. taxi clearances

Mike,
No BS, Osprey.David K - 8-21-2008 at 07:41 AM
Mike, the Diamante del Mar group (of the El Rosario project) own the old Cabo airport (or part of it)... You know they built a jet runway on the El
Rosario mesa, so perhaps they upgraded the old Cabo strip as well for their Cabo golf resort complex?
That is why El Rosario's Diamante del Mar is on hold, because the Cabo property became available... and with the infrastructure already in place down
there, they decided to do that one first to better prepare them for El Rosario.LancairDriver - 8-21-2008 at 01:12 PM

Mike- Sounds like it could have been the new VLJ Eclipse jet. Those could get into most of the strips in Baja. He probably has one of those too. (VLJ
is very light jet, for the non aircraft speakers)maspacifico - 8-21-2008 at 01:37 PM
What is Air Force One? I've seen that at SJD.losfrailes - 8-21-2008 at 01:39 PM
Air Force One is whatever aircraft the President of the United States happens to be in.
Not necessarily oriented to size of plane.maspacifico - 8-21-2008 at 01:48 PM
The plane I saw there was quite a bit bigger than anything else that flies in there commercially. Looked to be at least as big as a 767. Not sure
though, they wouldn't let me look.capt. mike - 8-21-2008 at 02:13 PM
frailes is correct, and when it was in SJD i think it was the 747 AF1.
DK - i have been into CSL 3 times in the last year so know it well. its been under renovations for years , yes. the owner licensee is a USA guy, his
company. i don't know that it is same as Diamonte deal.
they lengthened it for small to med biz jets and commuters but it cannot handle a 707, no way.
this is a spoof maybe? is osprey the one who does those? by the time you read it you been had? i was had no doubt.capt. mike - 8-21-2008 at 03:29 PM
really - and why would he take that pig 707 to baja when he has the other planes to chose from.
plus IF he wanted to take the 707 for any reason he's have landed at SJD where they can handle it.

Mike, don't know what to tell you. Just repeating a rumor. I heard it from a pilot.LancairDriver - 8-21-2008 at 04:43 PM
If Travolta was in there, and he probably was, it had to be in his Eclipse 500. Pretty easy to get the 500 and 707 numbers mixed up in the
translation. Of the three airplanes Travolta owns shown in the link from Grover, the Eclipse 500 is by far the best suited to fly in Baja.
fun to ponder

Ive landed at CSL many times. Lately 727 and G3 & G4 were in attendance. Very doubtfull that it's wide enough for a 707.
