A NEW FORUM IN NOMAD

palmeto99 - 8-21-2008 at 06:22 PM

Doug,

How about a new forum in the board that deals with the recent crime wave and the dangers of travel in Baja.
It could include driving tips and info on how to contact the authorities in the areas you are interested in.
It would be very informative to those of us that that live in Baja and have to travel down here .
The folks that are dreaming of Baja and only get down there for a week or so every year would not have to view this new forum as this upsets them so.
It would also solve the problem of all those that are upset over these news posts and those of us that need this info.
We could take what we wanted from this new forum while others could ignore it.

Since I'm retired here, don't move around much, I'm the old people you hate, I won't be effected, won't care, won't read the forum, I think it's a capital idea.

Sounds good to me.
Maybe a separate forum like off-topic that doesn't come up with "Today's Posts" ?

Palmetto,
How about starting your own board :?:
With any kind of luck most of the "new" flock will follow you there.

Palmetto bug (that's a big roach right?) Vandenberg's idea is a good one. I'll be one of your first members.

How to drive in baja - carefully during the daytime.

Authorities to contact in case of trouble - just call 1-800-ROTFLMAO

Let's see, what more do we need to cover?

Still waiting for Doug to make us a non-Baja Trip Reports forum!:saint:

I'm well matured and all Baja news, good or bad is welcome news.
Good...I know where to go.
Bad...I know to watch out

I appreciate all of it. Spanish or English.

Yup, I'm all for it

imagine a new forum where you might actually be able to post something related to Baja or Mexico, of course subject to the usual Cut, Slash, Delete, Censor whims of the Moderator.

Other than that it's a hell of an idea.

The suggestion to the new forum is completely contrary to purpose of this website! Peace, love and fish tacos sound familiar?

1) Censorship irritates the holy bejesus out of me.

2) It very rarely occurs here if one abides by the board rules. :)

3) In those cases where a poster feels the need to indulge himself at the cost of the community-- generally manifested as a gross violation of those rules-- I fully support whatever the moderator considers prudent to protect that community.

I could not agree more .
The moderator and not the unwashed membership should police the board.
Doug is quite capable of deleting what he feels is against the spirit of this board and what is against the rules.
What I am seeing for the most part here is the members trying to do a job that is not theirs to do.

Once again, Read what you need and ignore what would bore.

Hey, I am a poet and did not know it.
