NEW SENTRI CARDS

bajaguy - 8-26-2008 at 03:44 PM

Just got my new, improved SENTRI card in the mail today. Has a several holographic security features and an imbedded RFID chip. Card also comes with a copper lined cardboard sleeve to block the RFID chip when not in SENTRI lane.

You have 30 days to activate the card after you receive it, or the new card and old card will be unusableat border crossings. When you activate the new card, the old card is automatically deactivated. New cards can be activated on-line or at the "local enrollment center" (SENTRI office).

What I don't like about the new card is your supposed to keep it in the card board sleeve. Which is too big for a wallet and too big for my pocket. So I have to keep in my car.

You don't need to keep it in the cardboard sleeve. The sleeve supposedly blocks the RFID chip from being read by unauthorized readers.........I'm really not worried about it.

If you're using Starband, that me be the source of the problem. It's too slow for the site.

My Goof!! The web site starts with https://, not http://
