Los Pinos Pemex

Baja&Back - 8-29-2008 at 12:51 PM

Anybody know the station number of the new Pemex station next to the Los Pinos packing plant south of San Quintin??? Do they have diesel?
Thx.

don't know. speaking of caravans, do you have to stagger your fuel stops so 15 diesel pushers don't take all of the fuel at a station? that must be a biatch.

Porky Pig - 8-29-2008 at 02:13 PM

don't know the station number offhand but they do have diesel

Porky Pig - 8-29-2008 at 02:54 PM

Station number 9278 located at KM marker #11. With gas & diesel and minimarket.
Isn't the Baja Nomads board a great place to get info??

Remember if you are going south of San Quintin, to support our good friend and Baja Nomad 'BajaCactus' (Antonio) of the Baja Cactus Motel and Pemex in El Rosario... just 27 miles south of Los Pinos.:light:

It would be great if more Mexican businesses joined Baja Nomad and developed their services based on our input the way Antonio has!

I agree. Its the best hotel for the money on mex1.

The rustic furnishings and the tilework in the bathrooms is beautiful.
I try to stay when I can  and always top up my fuel there.

I get the shudders when I drive thru their slave camps.

Would hate to further line their pockets.

Just my personal spin on the whole sad sordid situation.

(We have taken volunteer medical teams into those camps.
pretty sad- don't believe me? go and visit yourself)

dtbushpilot - 8-29-2008 at 09:26 PM

Who's slave camps....where are they, I'd like to check it out....dt

dtbushpilot - 8-29-2008 at 10:39 PM

Thanks for the link Grover. Lots of info, lots of reading, lots of thanks to the Lord for the bountiful life that we enjoy.....makes me feel guilty some times.....dt

Think "I owe my soul to the company store"

thebajarunner - 8-30-2008 at 10:06 AM

and it ain't a pretty song....

the Oaxacans that have settled there basically do not speak Spanish and live in conditions that you do not want to see,

and have no means to escape,

meanwhile the Pino's Citations and King Airs hum past the castles on the hill.

la de da de da.....

like I said,
I get the shudders just driving through....

Baja&Back - 8-30-2008 at 10:44 AM

Hey, thanks a lot for the info, Porky!!

Woody: We usually only have 3 or 4 diesel pushers per tour + everything down to 18' campervans. We do try to stagger fuel stops, except for Antonio's Pemex. I like to give him all the business we can.

I agree with DK. Vanda & I have stayed at Baja Cactus twice when travelling the highway on our own. Antonio is one of the very best businessmen we have met in Mexico!!

Baja&Back - 8-30-2008 at 10:59 AM

While I'm talking about good businessmen, a jolly fellow named Fidel owns the RV park on the beach called EL PABELLON PALAPAS ALVINOS, at Km 16.5, south of San Quintin. Not to be confused with the yellow ejido-run El Pabellon park, which we don't like.

RVers should try Fidel's, with FRESH water taps, hot showers, a flat view beach instead of dunes, and a friendly attitude. The guy is SO helpful. Soon to come: electricity & a beachfront restaurant! Good rates.

NOBODY treats poor Mexicans....
