Bahia Asuncion House For Sale

DianaT - 9-5-2008 at 01:00 PM

This is being posted strictly as a favor for a very good friend. We are not involved in any way with this house, and if it sells, we will not receive anything from the seller or buyer---not even a beer. We just want to help our friend.

It is a small two bedroom house not yet completed on a small lot, 16 by 20 meters. The three houses were originally built for others, but things changed.

The Three Houses.

The pink one on the corner is currently being furnished as a vacation rental---we will have more infomation about it when we return next time. It will rent for somewhere around the $70.00 per day range---not absolute yet.

The House in the Middle was purchased by a gringo who also has a home in La Paz. We have not met him yet, but we have met some of his very good friends (nomads) when they were here. It is a great get-away for those really hot summer months.

The house for sale is painted sort of a lilac color---it really needs another coat, but we think it is a very nice color. When it was no longer sold, work stopped. The color does not show in the picture---

For those of you who are familar with BA, these three homes are up the hill from our home, and the now being completed home of nomad, Laurieboats. So, this is the view from the front porch.

Current view the other way.

These homes are right off the main street in town---the pavement currently stops at the top of the hill. What you see in front of the three homes is not a street---we don't have streets yet. It is a long temporary driveway so we have access to our home---also provides access to back of Lauriboats' new home.

We have been told that there streets will be completed in two years----now we certainly would never say that is an absolute.

The owner is Armando Verduzco. His phone number at his office is 615 160-00298---or his Hotel is 615 160 00004. I also have his home and cell phone numbers for anyone really interested.

However, Armando does not speak English---in person he understands some so with our very limited Spanish, we can only communicate in person. So unless you speak Spanish, a phone call won't help much.

Also, we really believe that the best way if someone is interested is to visit Bahia Asuncion and see everything in person---some people love it here, and others do not!

Once in town, Armando can be found---it is difficult to explain where is office is, but the hotel is on the main road and part of his family run the resturant there----they can always find him, and besides, it is a very good place to eat.:yes: And, his nephew speaks English quite well. Or, if we are in town, we will find him.

Armando is a very reputable person and he is familar with what is needed for a fidiocamiso (sp) and or for a corporation. Besides being our friend, he was the builder and owner of our home and is also building the home for Laurieboats, so they have also dealt with Armando.

Price, well U2U and I will explain. There is not a definite price as it depends on what someone wants completed, and how it is to be completed.

I will not have time to take photos of the inside as we are getting ready to leave for a short time, but Laurieboats is also familar with the inside of these homes. Basic, livingroom, kitchen, laundry room, and two bedrooms and one bath. Oh, Electricty is there as is the city water. The water is a flat 90 pesos a month and we have been quite surprised at how cheap the electricity is over here.

I just wanted to add, my husband (Jim) and I have been working with Armando Verduzco, our home builder in Bahia Asuncion, for the past few months. In our dealings with Amando we have found him to be a very honest man. Jim and I are very pleased with the way our home is coming together. Armando has completed everything as promised above our expectations. The last time we were in B.A. we stayed in Armando's pink house, it is a cute 2 bedroom one bath house with fabulous views of the Pacific Ocean from the front patio. We highly recommend Armando's work as a contractor and would not hesitate to have him build us another home. Feel free to U2U me with any questions or concerns. Lauri

that sounds great Laurie. can you say with a general range what his fees are? perhaps on a SF basis for shell and basic fictures? figure a small truck load, enclosed 2 T van can bring in appliances and furniture from GN.

Dreaming again Mike ??
You will have to actually go to Asuncion and talk to the builder to find out !!

A price should be required in these adds if for nothing else but to satisfy the curious.

Capt. Mike,
Based on the fact that our house, large garage, water front lot and several options were all included in our price, we don't really have a per square foot number. I will say that based on our building experience in Baja my husband and feel that we receive a great deal, around 40% less than we have paid in Mulege. Armando is very fair in his pricing and has completed everything in a timely manner. Next time you are in B.A. stop by, I would be happy to buy you a beer, give you a tour and more details. Lauri

I am bumping this up as before we left, Armando told us he really wants to sell both of the houses---or at least one of them, the pink one or the lilac one. (One in the middle sold)

He is setting up a shop and needs more capital, and besides, his youngest daughter turned 15 in December, and that cost a few pesos.:yes:

He may have a buyer for one of them, not sure. He said he will take $40,000.00 dollars mas or menos---all depends.

Other details are at the beginning of this thread.
