How is the name of this store pronounced and what does it have any meaning (like '7-Elleven' used to be their operating hours)?

It comes from the symbol "%" - although I don't know why - probably "100%" markups - although the prices aren't as bad as convenience stores in the US.

Don't know if this means anything but they are owned by FEMSA a large soft drink and beer distributor.

It is pronounced OHCS so, not AHCS so (as in the bovine Ox)
