Plant nurseries in TJ, Rosarito

and on the way to La Mision. the saddest thing for me is not to be able to bring my plants into mexico...or if anyone knows of a legal way...*sigh* i have a rare collection of succulents and if anyone knows where i can find a nursery or even private collection, PLEASE tell me.

We brought all our trees over. We engaged the services of a professional importer, they washed the roots and immigration approved the importation after inspection.

We planted them that same day and they are still thriving here after nine years.

Otherwise, there is a very good nursery in El Descanso valley, right off the free road to your left as you pass the dunes. The family is very nice, they have a large selection on two hectares (guessing) and will help you with finding the plants that you want if they aren't already on site.

You can take all the cutting you want out of our garden (lots of succulents)!

We have been bringing plants to our place in Las Gaviotas for years, never problem...and there is another nursery just south of us on the west side of the road, right next door to the horse rentals...about a mile north of Primo Tapia!!(sp)

Succulents are easy to smuggle across. Take cuttings and wrap in damp paper towels. Put in purse. When you get to the house... Put in dirt. If they catch you...repeat.

i don't have 10 plants, i have hundreds, and some of them 3 ft. high. i collect plants like some do coins.

We brought all of our large potted plants across- little by little after being turned away the first time when in a truck. The worse that happen for trying is they turn you around an d you get to use lane 24. Then you drive to another crossing and get turned back again. Then you bring them in little by little.

dianaji --if I may ask, what species do you collect? I can sympathize--I had to donate my extensive collection of Dudleya when I moved out of California.

Maybe seeds would be a better option or, are these plants considered pets?

oh no, i mean someone close by that has a private collection that may sell some. i have a good friend connected to Huntington University. and hey, those are nice pics. i can send u some nice pics of what i have if i can figure out how to send pics. can u tell me?
