Those are spectacular.
We have a male and female that soar around us every morning while we are taking our swim. I absolutely love their calls. It doesnt seem like the day has started until I hear them talking to each other.
I have never seen one with a fish in each talon but then the fish are not so abundant here. Those were trout werent they?

That definately meets gets the Fishbuck seal of approval for excellent fishing and excellent flying. I especially liked the double hook-ups!

My friend Tom Cunninghan shot these at the San Marcos Tierra lagoon near Punta Chivato. He kinda baited it, accidentaly, with a released fish that ended up too large for the osprey. But nice pics. I'm only posting 4 .

Surely a crazy myth but many people believe Ospreys have been known to swoop down and with their talons puncture the lips of humans who use them to lie. The old ones think it is a symbolic jesture suggesting the human remain silent lest he or she anger the Gods with mockery or infidelity.

Great pics. Love the one with the trout rising behind the Osprey. Makes it look like the trout is chasing the bird out of the water...Yes those are trout in the pictures. Where were the pics taken, because in warm water you won't find rainbow trout (actually they look more like cutthroat trout which are common in the Canadien waters).

Your right- those aren't warm water shots. The sender told me the pictures were taken in Montana. Apparently the Ospreys have a very wide range of habitat. The photography is first class. Compares favorably with Ken Bondy's underwater shots.
