I use my Ford diesel so infrequently I'm not sure my assumption is correct, but.....................
It seems that my mileage is not as good running on this new formulation. I'm getting 10% to 20% less mileage now. I'm about ready to have it checked
out to see if I have a problem or not.
Have any of you running stricly on ULSD (stateside) noticed a decline in mileage?

For the first time in the four years I've owned my Ford truck, I had a chance to drive it a long distance at freeway speeds WITHOUT TOWING ANYTHING OR
HAVING THE CABOVER CAMPER ON THE BACK.
I drive a 2000 F350 4wd, 3.73 rear axle. SRW, 7.3L engine using a programmer with the basic towing preset (basically, it extends shifts and richens
the mixture).
I went from LA to Denver with a large load of belongings in the back with a tarp over it. Probably about 500lbs worth of stuff.
Driving 70-75 the whole way, I got 17 mpg.
I then took a trip to South Dakota and Iowa and did a large section on two lane highway with very few towns. Could only average about 60-65. I got
18.3mpg. All of this on ULSD.
I cant compare this to any pre-ULSD driving, as I was always towing or hauling the Lance or both.
But maybe it might be helpful for comparison sake for others. Programmers and chips rarely, if ever, improve mpgs.
I'll see about filling up down here in Sonora before a long trip with good old high sulphur diesel and see if I can drive at comparable speeds and see

a huge difference.

My Dodge diesel always got better mileage on Mexican high sulphur fuel. Sounded better too, seemed smoother. I do, however believe that mileage has

I would guess two reasons. Colorado doesn't have a pollution blend like CA and at higher altitudes with the same or similar octane it's burning
better.
