always gets the pucker factor off the charts. you know, (or maybe not) when you start going through the mental checklist of the location of every item
you don't want "the boys" to find!

A surfer dude like you...what do you have to hide?Woooosh - 9-25-2008 at 10:05 AM
20 years ago when I used to surf the K38 area a lot- we used to bury our "stash" in the sand for the next surf trip. That hiding place was good for
about 15 years- then one day there was a construction shack on the location.woody with a view - 9-25-2008 at 11:01 AM
WAY back around 1980 we'd stop in the center of the freeway under the coronado ave overpass on the I-5 southbound and only bring enough yesca with us
across the border on our day trips. the rest would go into the bushes. on the way north we'd stop at the center divider and grab the goods on the way
home.....
any other fotos of the soldiers around your camps or wherever? nowadays they don't like you taking their fotos....

Last time I was down, all the soldiers at the check-points along Hwy. 1 were polite and courteous. They were just doing their job.Bwana_John - 9-25-2008 at 02:18 PM

My experience with the soldiers working at the control points has always been positive. I have heard a couple of stories over the years from one or
two who claim different but I chalk that up to just the exception that proves the rule.
I was impressed by the newest members of Mexico's Elite Seal Team...

Put your stash in front of your tire, pull foward and park on it. Easy to find for you hard for them. By the way there is some real good smoke buried
some where at Punta Baja and also over by the small cliffs east of Punta La Gringa, don't ask me why I know.

reminds me of the time out at spot x when billy decided that a regular old rock was "out of place". he went and picked it up and found a film canister
underneath filled with bud. he then went to his stash of girlie mags and tore out a certain body part and put it inside the canister. he then replaced the rock and that was that.
we often wonder who found it because it isn't there anymore.Martyman - 9-26-2008 at 08:13 AM
THAT is funny! I laughed out loud at work (certain body part).Ken Bondy - 9-26-2008 at 10:44 AM
They have always been friendly with us and treated us with courtesy, except they keep trying to trade one or more of their drab green Hummers for our
red one:

The Mexican soldiers have always been decent to us. I agree with Rodorado, wish the US guys were that way. We took the ferry to Santa Rosalita once
and travelled with the soldiers. The ninja guys in black with their drug sniffing dog were there to inspect everyone before boarding. The dog's name
is Omega, he's way cool, a black lab and the soldiers posed with me in a pic, all giving peace signs. I'll post the pic if I can find it.Cardon - 9-26-2008 at 05:31 PM
They have alway been fairly easy to deal with. Most of the time they just kinda stand there like cardboard cutouts.
dao45 - 9-27-2008 at 12:26 AM
Someone told (rumor) most sniffer dogs in Mexico wer"ent really trained.Just there to intimidate(perhaps then come a profiling)But as tie died said no
problem. Course she had doggy treats so they stayed away from her pockets LMAOwoody with a view - 9-27-2008 at 06:41 AM
i tried to get a foto of a soldier carrying a box about the size of a milk carton with a 2 foot antennae sticking out but wasn't fast enough. he was
walking down the line between the big rigs and cars at santo tomas checkpoint. WMD detector? any one else seen this gizmo?
