The sentry thingy

Would you kids please explain exactly what the sentry card is and who can use it?? I sure know how to do it wrong, but I'd like to know if it would benefit me, even on non brain fart days. i have an excellent memory, it's just real short. And, I'm picturing the one lane line at Tecate, (scuse me, i saw a truck lane, as well) but does it only benefit at the really busy crossings?

I don't think Tecate has a SENTRI lane so if that's where you cross, it's of no benefit. What it is and how to use it can be found here: http://www.customs.gov/xp/cgov/travel/trusted_traveler/sentr...

Only those with SENTRI cards and SENTRI approved vehicles can use the SENTRI lanes. Where the wait in the regular lanes might be three hours, those in the SENTRI lanes probably won't be waiting more than 20 minutes. Typically we cross at Otay Mesa and are through in less than 3 minutes.
