Can hardly wait to park my butt on one of those beautiful beaches for the winter months..Would love to meet some nomads too!!

thefishaholic - 10-6-2008 at 03:35 PM

Just returned to Cabo from Mulege and saw some people at just about all the beaches.
Stopped at Santispac to let Chaco "our beach puppy) check out his old diggs and the caretakers are not even there so probaly free for now to camp??

Bob and Susan - 10-6-2008 at 04:49 PM

some of the beaches have someone come by once a day to collect$$$

dao45 - 10-6-2008 at 05:03 PM

WOW last year we camped for a week or so at conception.I guess the fee was about $5 a night but we allways gave the kids a bag of candy or cookies so if I rememnber we never got charged.
Im sorry to hear annas is closed.Does anyone know abourtZumela the cantinarra there. She was such a sweety

BajaKeela - 10-6-2008 at 05:50 PM

Thanks Bob and Susan...Nomads always have answers which are very appreciated..I don't mind paying whatever the rate is ..within reason of course..When I heard some of the beaches might be sold.. I thought we might have to move further south.. So when you guys see me on the beach..say hello , I'll be the one with the biggest smile.

Bob and Susan - 10-6-2008 at 05:52 PM

Bob and Susan - 10-6-2008 at 08:13 PM

Beach concession info and Anna's restaurant-

CasaManzana - 10-6-2008 at 08:57 PM

Beach concession issue... some of the beaches around us here have folks collecting beach fees but are not anything but guys collecting fees with no connection to that beach. You might ask but you will never know if you are paying the right guy.
Anna's had the grand opening tonight on Santaspac

BajaKeela - 10-6-2008 at 11:17 PM

Duh!!!! Was I slow or what? But I've always asked for a receipt in the past..so I haven't been a victim ..yet.. Thought concession was a stand of some sort..Not a common term in my part of the country.. I gotta laugh at myself .

capt. mike - 10-7-2008 at 07:03 AM

i thot mexican govt had a law that all beaches were accessible to the general public and free.
so what does a concession get? a fee agreement to manage cleaning up and toilets?
just curious. some one told me a few years ago to not pay them and cite law.
i don't mind $5 if it is legitimate and they do work.

Baja&Back - 10-7-2008 at 08:49 AM

Most of the beaches in Concepcion bay are owned by Ejidos (farming comunes). They have the right to collect $5 to $8 fees or kick you off. Rightful caretakers, like Israel or Lidia @ Santispac and Fernando @ Requeson have proper receipt books. I recommend saying "No recibo, no pay. Come back with a receipt & we pay you, gracias."
They provide some level of security (locals don't mess with ejidos) & garbage pickup. I still wouldn't walk away leaving everything open or leave it all out at night.
Have a great stay on the beach! Hope this helps.

Every one here can tell me about a grand opening how long they were closed because of the heat but no one will ans. about who is running the place. If you know of a grand opening you should know who opened it! Thank YOU
