Two Rosarito cops were arrested for their role in the murder of César Beltrán Saldívar, a former Rosarito police commander, at Ortega's taco stand on
bulevar Benitó Juárez last October 3rd.
geez, I just love Rosarito!Cajones - 10-7-2008 at 10:22 PM
Well, the plot just got more complicated. It seems the latest victim, Eduardo Velasco Vega, was friends with the former police commander,César
Beltrán, who was killed Friday night at Ortega's Tacos on bulevar Benitó Juárez. Now there are reports that Vega's uncle and another person were
assassinated around the same time today in colonia Lucio Blanco in Rosarito.Woooosh - 10-7-2008 at 10:32 PM
I heard it the other way- that the first victim was a former corrupt policeman who was removed from the force in March. He was the main suspect in the
assasination of the Police Commander killed in January.
Don't know which story is correct. I do know that a few people's cars got shot up on the Blvd and that two taco-eaters were wounded.

Save and Protect the Taco Eaters

Another Rosarito businessman kidnapped this AM
Cajones - 10-8-2008 at 10:00 AM
His name is José Angel Flores. Pulled him out of his house around 5AM.
Hope this does not affect the quality of the tacos ...Woooosh - 10-8-2008 at 10:26 AM
That guy was relatively lucky- they broke in and beat up everyone in the house but he got away.
This is what happens when you fracture the drug gangs and let them loose on the public. Crooks always go for easy-target victims and quick cash. My
previous posts about being "unsettled" in Rosarito Beach told that everyone is at risk.
I just added a second metal accordian-style gate inside my front entrance. It won't stop anyone for long- but it gives us a few minutes of time with
the lights and alarm sirens going off to call the police and get the ammo loaded.
So far the troublemakers are staying away from the 10,000 Americans who live in the area. If they cross that line the fragile real estate and tourist
economy will collapse, imho.

Then they can have their cake, and eat it too ...Woooosh - 10-8-2008 at 05:45 PM
11 more dead today in TJ/Rosarito beach. 4 in Killed in Rosarito Beach gunfights.
I wonder how the 'Gull' likes living in his little piece of paradise with all the murder and mayhem around him.
It would seem that the days of great oceanside living are in the past in that region. How would you like to be a realtor trying to explain away the
death squads as just family feuds or business deals gone bad. Its sad nothing can stop this drug terrorism anymore.Cajones - 10-8-2008 at 06:18 PM

This is not a joke. The governor of Baja was quoted in the papers yesterday as saying these 70-odd assassinations during the past 8 days were
"isolated incidents".
You just cannot make this stuff up. palmeto99 - 10-8-2008 at 06:33 PM
Its like a comedy at times when the Mexican authorities release their crime figures or try to explain anything away. How many years did they get away
with this crap when a lot of the crime did not get reported.
Its past the point of no return and the government has lost this battle.Woooosh - 10-8-2008 at 06:36 PM
And todays near peso collapse was almost the icing on the cake. Stick a fork in her- she's done- a truly failed state.

You are usually fairly articulate....is your last line a simple typo or two....or has the "stuck on stupid" virus been getting to you???
