Is fast on the heels of Norbert! Odile is currently hugging the southern coastline of mainland Mexico & appears to stand a very good chance of
coming across Baja or up the Sea of Cortez if it follows the warmest waters. Heads up!

Well girls,
Norbert seemed to be petering out, which Odile, being peterless, can't match.woody with a view - 10-9-2008 at 02:56 PM
i'd still not want to be in the cone.... have friends at san juanico who are waiting for swell arrival and are bailing tomorrow, swell or not...

swell is already picking up here and many pangas got beached today and the rest will follow after lobster fishing tomorrow...lobster pickins get
better after a big swell.....guys were moving their traps today into deeper water.oladulce - 10-9-2008 at 07:02 PM

After all that effort of hauling their traps out to the grounds just a few days ago for the start of the season, the pangas passing by here today
were loaded to capacity as they brought them all back to the beach.
I don't think I've ever seen them bring the traps back in for a storm before (although you sure find a bunch on the beach afterwards when they leave
them out).CaboRon - 10-11-2008 at 06:32 AM
Thought this was the Odile thread ....
Back on track .....
It appears Odile is taking a hard left west and is heading for sure death in the Pacific ...
CaboRonshari - 10-11-2008 at 07:08 AM
ah yes...but we will still get a swell...which is the important part!
By the way...all the lobster fishermen are completely enjoying lying in bed this morning with their viejas! These guys only get 5 days off in 5 months
so today is a bonus day!vandenberg - 10-11-2008 at 07:52 AM
Just the occasional sprinkle here in Nopolo,4 miles s.of Loreto and winds still calm.
Looks like the eye will hit around 50 or so miles south of Mag Bay and if it stays on this course, Loreto may miss the brunt of it.

Those National Hurricane Center guys don't have a sense of humor The
following quote is from the 2 PM Odile update.
"ODILE...THE TROPICAL CYCLONE...HAS REALLY FOOLED ME AS ODILE...THE EVIL CHARACTER IN THE BALLET SWAN LAKE...FOOLED THE PRINCE."Katiejay99 - 10-11-2008 at 06:10 PM
What I don't get is why the NHC puts the discussions available in Spanish when it hits the US coast, but not when it hits the Mexican coast...
