FISH TOURNAMENT IN MULEGE THIS SATURDAY

Pompano - 10-16-2008 at 04:04 PM

Hot off the Presses!!.. and just in the nick of time. The low-key fishing tournament is on Saturday!

This will be pure fun..as is Baja fishing.

shari - 10-16-2008 at 04:20 PM

That is a great idea...love it...maybe we'll do a nomad tournament this new years as there will be lots of folks here. Maybe we'll have a silent auction too so we an send our faithful leader a present of appreciation.
Let us know how it goes...take a group photo of the participants! Have a blast.

Pompano - 10-16-2008 at 04:39 PM

Lots of good fishing right now near Mulege.

Why...Cypress could even catch one!!

(Lord, forgive me..for I could not resist.)

Cypress - 10-16-2008 at 04:46 PM

Pompano,

Pompano - 10-16-2008 at 05:18 PM

Cypress...by way of atoning my sin, I now go forth to seek enlightenment at Ana's.

Zulema will hear my confession.

Cypress - 10-16-2008 at 05:25 PM

Pompano, Good luck with the tournament

dao45 - 10-16-2008 at 11:12 PM

Von - 10-17-2008 at 06:45 AM

Hey can i enter from san diego? and Ill weigh here and take pictures of them and have a certify bajanomad maybe like david k to vouch for me?

Register today for the Fish Tourney!

Pompano - 10-17-2008 at 07:38 AM

Today, being Friday, is the day to sign up for Bart's 3-Fish Tournament.

New rulings just in: per scurilous complaints from last spring's Pinto Derby....No live chickens or nudity will be allowed on contestant boats until further notice.

Von, if you can get DK to validate your entry, we will take it under advisement at Happy Hour today. By the way, I have heard that David is indeed a 'certified' Nomad.

Cypress...as you can see, Zulema washed away my sin. Alles en orden.

Cypress - 10-17-2008 at 12:19 PM

Pompano, You can now go in peace and catch some fish.:D

toneart - 10-17-2008 at 01:09 PM

Pompano,

If you win this tournament like you did the Pinto Bass Tournament, I would say there's something fishy going on. I won't be there for this, but I will be there for the Pinto Bass Tournament next spring. Got a new boat too, so watch out. :o:o:P

Say hello to Russell, Lupe and Zulema for me.
Give her my wicked best. :saint:

I will await official results from others who may have been more ..ah..'attentive' during the official weigh-in at this event...but I faintly recall the name ....

....Mateo?

But..that could have been the name of my taxi driver.

Sharksbaja - 10-19-2008 at 10:36 AM

He cheats! He speaks Fish Latin!

Cypress - 10-19-2008 at 01:45 PM

Mateo? Mateo, lives down at the boat launch on the south side of the river , where most of the local commercial (gill net etc. guys) unload their catch. :bounce: He's a lifelong fisherman, knows the waters and will be hard to beat, if he decides to compete.:bounce:

OPPS...SHADES OF THE CURRENT 'ACORN' OHIO VOTER FRAUD

Pompano - 10-19-2008 at 02:31 PM

Randolfo Eduardo Adamez..better known as The Purple Sage..

...was summarily disqualified from any further Baja fishing competitions when he registered under 50 different names and then tried to enter this pond-raised silver salmon with clear signs of freezer burn.

Besides, the last known Baja salmon was caught off Cabo in 1998.

The palm trees on shore were a dead giveaway

Guy does know good beer, though. I've got a fridge full of amber ale.

roundtuit - 10-19-2008 at 07:23 PM

Cypress Please don't put Mateo as a gill net fisherman. This man is a good guide and knows the waters, and where the fish could possiably be. One of the best three fishing guides in Mulege

Drum roll, please..brrrrrmmmmmmmmm!

Pompano - 10-19-2008 at 07:37 PM

...Thank you.

Har-rump...ahem...cough..hack...hrrrmmmp....ah...pa-TOOEY!

Ladies and Gentlemen!!....The results of Bart's 3 Fish Tournament ust in from reliable sources:

The winners are as follows---
1st place-- "Navagator" Captain "Mateo", Crew was Charlie and Linda (Very cool people" and well deserving!!)

Thier catch: 30 plus pounds of three species--grouper, and two types of "jacks" .. one might have been Daniels.

2nd place-- "Strange Lady" Captain "Tom", First mate and main angler, Patti the "Hooker" Higgenbotham. (Now, some sailors may recall the good times when..ah, but that's a story for another time..)

Thier catch: 30plus pounds but just a few ounces shy-- Dorado, yellowtail and a sierra---pass the ceviche, Tom.

3rd place was taken by "Caddy Shack" who weighed in two nice fish.

mulegemichael - 10-19-2008 at 08:07 PM

...and the winner, mateo, has gotta be one of the savvyiest fishermen i've EVER known....good for him; a great guy and well deserving....and....it's been a tough summer for him.

dao45 - 10-20-2008 at 04:14 AM

Does any one knoe how much it costs to fish with Mateo?

mulegemichael - 10-20-2008 at 06:59 AM

i THINK his off season rates are $150 a day...peak season $180 a day...you won't regret going with him; fine fisherman, great english, super sense of humor...and you WILL catch fish!

Cypress - 10-20-2008 at 07:07 AM

Congratulations to Capt. Mateo, his crew and everyone else involved.:D
