think about cast aluminum instead...talk to our friend Elizabeth at muebles la mision in El Sauzel, just north of Ensenada. She has a great connection to the foundry in TJ and they deliver fantastic stuff! At least talk to her!

Here's her website:

that only gives you a "peak" at what she has....she can DO ANYTHING for you.

We had terific results with these folks.
My partner runs a "fab shop" here in Modesto and he was very impressed with the quality of the welding and the powder coating,
looks heavy, but is aluminum in the custom work and is very very nice.

almost any town of any size will have a welder or two. your most local guy can probably fabricate anything you want, at a reasonable price. I can recommend a few in Loreto but I believe from previous posts you are from the cape area.

Does wrought iron stand up to salt breezes, or does it rust? Our steel windows in the beach house are 5 years old and ready for the scrap heap.

Aluminum sets hold up to the salt air. They can be found at various stores just along the 2 mile stretch south of Rosarito Beach. Selling price should be around $225 for a two tier round table and four chairs. Haggle and be ready for a heavy load. The shop will knockdown the set into pieces, but you have to be able to handle a 5 foot table top.

i used to think people were "just whining" when they talked about the salt at the beach

We bought ours at Costco after seeing it in a local restaurant. The only problem is that the table is not very big. Fabulous quality. We have friends who have had theirs outdoors for 2 seasons and they still look great. You can dress them up with colorful cushions... and the best part is that they are fairly reasonable.
