need help getting my son from guerrero negro via bus to u.s.

ssrnola - 10-19-2008 at 10:11 PM

Can someone PLEASE help- my 20 something yr. old son is stranded in guerrero negro with no money. Does anyone know about a bus service to get him back to the u.s.? Can I buy a ticket for him online? And are the 2 listed agents for western union in guerrero negro trustworthy? Thank you anyone!!!

FYI-

The two Western Union offices I have used in BCS have worked well. I suspect this is your best shot.

There is frequent bus service that goes to tj .... that is several times a day.

Have him stick his thumb out; he's a grownup now

vandenberg - 10-20-2008 at 07:09 AM

How did he get in this predicament ?

If there's a legit reason there will be Nomad help awaiting, no doubt.

Most people don't get stranded in the middle of a foreign country unless mentally challenged.

hi there...yes, more info would be helpful. You can wire him money to the telegraph office as long as he has some ID...send it to his name to western union...Guerrero Negro, B.C.S., mexico, . The buses leave mostly in the early morning and evening.

slimshady - 10-20-2008 at 08:49 AM

What the hell is he doing in Guerrero Negro with no money and clueless as to how to even get back?

rpleger - 10-20-2008 at 10:10 AM

slimshady ....

We are here to help, not to judge...

ssrnola - it would help to know where you are? If you are close to the border perhaps you could go to one of the bus lines in Tijuana that service the route and pay for the ticket there. They can communicate with the station at Guerrero Negro and issue the ticket to him there.

ssrnola, Relax!:) I'm betting he's having one heck of a good time and will be home before you can roll out the red carpet.

ssrnola, I will be driving north past GN in a day or so. If your son is still stranded in Guerrero Negro let me know and I will give him a ride to San Diego. Anyone else need a ride?

shari - 10-22-2008 at 05:46 PM

Jeepers ssrnola....this board has helped countless numbers of folks. WE rally to help those in need.....we tried to help you and your son....it would be the polite thing to do to at least let us know that you solved your problem and your son is safe and sound.

Pompano - 10-22-2008 at 06:17 PM

ssrnola.....see this thread:

Baja Grande III will be in GN next month

Ken Cooke - 10-22-2008 at 06:41 PM

In exactly 1 month, there will be 10 Jeeps cruising through GN making a stop before heading north to Tijuana. Let me know, we can help if he doesn't mind sitting around 4 more weeks.

I never do get the thing where people ask for HELP ..... members offer help on many different levels....and the poster seldom/never checks back in (been 4 days now).....I think I would check back every few HOURS if at all possible to at least reply to answers/questions ......

probably got the call that went something like, "I'm in baja and i hate you and i never want to see you again."

vacaenbaja - 10-23-2008 at 05:01 PM

I'll bet he hooked up with Evebabe and they're on the way to the beach.

lingililingili - 10-24-2008 at 09:11 AM

I am hoping there is a happy ending even if we never do hear what happened!

ssrnola, thanks for posting back.

We Nomad's take posts like yours very seriously and I think I'm probebly like most here and check these posts very offten to make sure help was found. I myself once had the benifit of Nomad help when I broke down with my son and grand-daughter. Please, please let us know what happens and don't be afraid to ask for help. Chances are there is a Nomad near him now and he/she ismore than willing to help.

Good luck!

shari - 10-25-2008 at 04:09 PM

If he calls back you can give him my number as I have friends in GN and am close to there...if he needs to talk to someone..he can come here too and maybe hitch a ride back with guests of ours going north. Check your U2U box by clicking on the U2U thingy.
