Recently the area north and east of Catavina was updated with high resolution sat photos. You can follow the complete road to Mission Santa Maria now,
as well as see the entire Canyon Santa Maria in high res.
Likewise for the south end of the Pole Line Road and the west end of the La Turquesa cut across road.
And no doubt, many other places! Whee! Let's go GE 4Wheeling!

I just went to wikimapia.org and spotted places that couldn't be picked out before: The Widowmaker, End of bulldozed road, the mission walls, Las
Palmitas oasis... Too bad that it isn't the highest resolution as other areas east and west to make out the Camino Real... You can see the Indian
trail going down into the canyon from the end of the bulldozed road, however... and it was the El Camino Real until Junipero Serra and the Franciscans
took over and constructed the newer rout, above the canyon... as well as the cargo trail, further to the north.
Neal, do look at wikimapia... you get a full screen image, not a quarter screem as on Google: Here is the link to the Santa Maria mission valley...

Did I tell you I found the Lost Mission on Google Earth? It's all condo's now.

I too like GE, rarely look at GMaps.
With the financial stuff going on right now, I'll give you a real deal on one of those condo's.
