Problems with log in today?

DianaT - 11-3-2008 at 04:44 PM

This afternoon I can only get into the forums via the backdoor---through a google entry.

Then I cannot login---lots of strange messages show up at the top.

I was able to respond to a post by hitting respond and then logging in for that post---did not carry over to the forum

Posted this the same way. Start New topic and at top put in username and password.

Anyone else having a similar problem today?

Thanks
Diane

Finally got on, but only after I checked the increased security box---oh well, the joys of using the Internet cafe.

Strange messages at the top is indicative of being at the wrong URL. The software is posted in different directories (multiple copies, some of which I test on, and some of which show up in a Google search), but the only viable location for visitors to use will be the one that has "forums.bajanomad.com" in the address. Anything else, and you'll likely have issues of one form or another.

What does it do?

Just curious. Thanks

Now you know !!
I was told from my email provider that I had to hit this button for my mail to work in some places - they were right.

Still a little strange today. Still only getting into the forum through the back door--google.

But I can log in. Everything looks normal when I am in a specific thread or looking at today's posts. But when I switch back to BajaNomad where all the forums show, this is on the top of the page.

But, all seems to be working OK.

Diver---have not seen much of you around here lately?

As mentioned - when you get the "Warning" messages, you're not at "forums.bajanomad.com".

The "increased security" option logs you out when the browser is completely closed (when no other tabs or open windows are still open).
