Up-to-date DIESEL prices please

vgabndo - 12-3-2008 at 01:20 PM

With things so much in flux, I'd like to know what to expect to pay for diesel on our up-coming baja SALVAGE trip to San Nicolas. Thanks in advance. Perry and Cathy

We'll be passing your mountain on the way south in our diesel truck around Jan 19-20.
What are northern CA prices these days ?

How about $2.35 at Flying J in Corning, CA.

Roughly $2.45 and less in San Diego. About $2.35 in Mexicali and San Felipe and a greater bargain using pesos.

Have a great trip.

I paid about 2.01 per gallon in Mexicali last Sunday.

Thanks for all the info. Diver...You'll want to avoid filling between Yreka and Redding. There is a zone pricing rip-off being allowed here and we routinely pay 30-40 cents a gallon more than Redding. We should be back by the time you go through. PM me if you would like to make a quick stop.

Oops, I meant December not January.

If you are going, then you just pay what it costs, a few cents either way shouldn't make or break your trip. Just go and have fun.

That's amazing that it has gone that low. I just guesstimated when I last purchased fuel in Mexicali a few weeks ago...

Heading back down in a couple of weeks and I will definately fill er' up.

1/2 off from this time last year!

like someone else said, "if you're going, don't stress. it's all good."

Today I saw Diesel at $2.24 and Regular at $1.73, in Vista. It's been a while since $20 almost filled my tank!

Lets do the math....National average for regular gas spiked at 4.37/gallon when the crude barrel was 147 usd...there abouts. As of today that same barrel is about 71% lower than peak close max. Soooo....just a second...need to kick off my shoes to count better....okay....at 71% lower it would be reasonible to expect gas to be 71% lower from peak, or 1.27 usd per regular gallon? One heck of a deal to be able to pocket in the supply chain 50 cents per gallon.....rape us on the way up and screw us on the way down....oh, never mind, capital process at work.....

Here is what the one CEO predicts:

Gulf Oil CEO says gas could hit $1 next year

Next year ain't that far away.;D

thats because the economy is soooo bad

there will be no cars driving to work so

no one will need to buy the gas:lol:

Has diesel really gone DOWN in Mexico? I cant imagine, being that the price is supported by the government.

Not on the mainland, anyway, while I've been here. When I arrived about 4 months ago, I believe I was paying about 6.53 pesos/liter. The past two days, on the way back from a trip to Puerto Vallarta, I was paying about 7.1 pesos/liter in Jalisco and Sinaloa.

Sayulita is a pretty amazing little town, at least if you are tolerant of transplanted rich Californians.

No reduction in price --the peso has GONE DOWN

Of course, that explains it. I got 13.74 per dollar on Thursday.
