HELP recover non-profit research stolen vehicle

NON-PROFIT’S STOLEN VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP TO RECOVER

The vehicle belongs to “Proyecto Peninsula”. It was stolen Friday December 5th, 2008 at night in Ensenada.
Is a white Toyota Pick-up, plates 491 TEG from D.F. See photos attached.
The vehicle was part of a 1 year project to collect information about the peninsula’s beauty and culture. It was loaded with 6 months of records and information; photographic and video equipment, photographies on CD’s, research, notes and footage with interviews and a lot of valuable information.
Any help to find it will be HIGHLY appreciated.

Este es el vehiculo de apoyo del Proyecto Peninsula, fue robado el viernes 5 de dic del 2008. en la noche, en la ciudad de ensenada, por favor si lo ves o lo viste es muy importante para nosotros saber en donde. Es un Pick Up Toyota Blanco con placas 491 TEG del D.F, y una caja color metalico posterior, tumbaburrros negro y estribos negros.

El proyecto implica hacer un recorrido a pie a lo largo de la costa peninsular, llevamos 6 meses, el vehiculo de apoyo tiene todo nuestro equipo de campo, mucha informacion importante y valiosisima para nosotros, estamos haciendo un registro fotografico y de video, y ahi esta todo nuestro trabajo, discos con imagenes, investigacion, entrevistas, etc.... Porfavor es importante no solo para nosotros sino para todos los que les importa la peninsula, su belleza y cultura.

Manda este mail a todos tus conocidos, ojala alguien lo haya visto, o nos de algunas ideas para poder recuperar parte de lo perdido.

That is awful. But, I am curious as to why the vehicle was left parked with all of that valuable stuff inside? I live in a fairly safe area & I wouldn't leave my vehicle parked in my driveway with all of that in it. Oh well, thats just me. Anyway, I do hope the vehicle and it's contents are recovered.

It is such an awful feeling to walk out and see your vehicle gone---hard to believe when it happens.

I had a car stolen in Ontario, Canada, Sacramento, Ca. and Nopolo/Loreto, Mexico. So, I would say it's an equal opportunity continent.

And a little further south on the continent--we had our truck stolen in Guatemala. :yes:

Don't give up. A friend had her car stolen in Calexico and the Mexican police found it on the mainland and it was returned.

I had a pickup stolen from my son's driveway in Oceanside, CA, found six months later when a La Paz cop noticed it from an Insurance bulletin. Seems the Insurance company (s) offer aa reward to the local police.

Now, this was some years back (about 10)

REWARD posters

I would get some "REWARD" posters printed in Spanish on one side and English on the other with a couple of color photos of the truck and start posting them in stores and busnesses, especially PEMEX stations north, south and east.

The sooner you get the word and photos out, the better you will be and may result in a recovery. Also get the posters to all levels of police and the military.

Who is "Proyecto Peninsula"? I know one of the contact names above which leads me to believe there is a UABC [University] connection.
I've seen their efforts in the past, seeking funding for adventure as a scientific or academic mission, of course. Looks like they're still pulling it off.
