It's been five years since I've done Baja. I've been spend a lot of time in San Carlos instead. This spring I want to return to my beloved Baja but am
wondering about the drive.
Some time back I know they were having a lot of safety issues with driving down. Is that cleared up for the most part? I used to think it was nothing
to cross the border around 4am heading south.
I'm planning a trip this spring and would like to know your thoughts. All opinions greatly appreciated

if you don't have a tricked out $60k rig pulling a toyhauler i wouldn't worry. if you do, drive in the day and go FAST!

I've done Baja for 20 years but not in the last five. I drive a '97 Ranger towing a 16 foot tin boat.
I just remember reading of the problems from the border to Ensenada and was wondering if they are still happening.

no. they moved on, or up to bigger and better things. or maybe they became one of the 700+ dead guys in TJ this year. don't worry.

I would worry more about Sonora than I would Baja.

I stay away from Nogales and travel through Lukeville.
I no longer have a place in San Carlos and want to get back to my roots....camping and fishing in Baja.
I used to hang in La Ventana, years before the windsurfers found it and in San Lucas Cove for the most part
I've heard there have been many changes in the last 5 years and looking forward to making the drive and seeing those changes
How about what is going to shock me?
