I found this list of articles of his. The one on Driving in Mexico-an Update is dated August of this year.

Also found a purported email address for him in one of the articles.

Thanks!
I was afraid he was no longer with us!

For someone with so much knowledge of Mexico, it IS peculiar that he doesnt post here. Well, at least not under his name. ;D

I seem to recall some kind of conflict with him and others right about the time Amigos was going under. There was plenty of conflict to go around back then............

Seems like a year or two ago he was reported to be in the Puerto Escondido area on the mainland.

Udo - 12-14-2008 at 05:53 PM

I thought Puerto Escondido was in Baja, located just below El Juncalito.

David Eidell and us Nomads (then 'Amigos de Baja')

He lived in Tecate, CA USA then took off for Mainland Mexico... popping online here and there... Lived a time in Mazatlan as a guest of someone then suddenly disappeared, the host was trying hard to find him...

Anyway, he wrote some good stuff about Mexican happenings... he joined us in the Viva Baja Van for a week trip... attended a couple of my Viva Baja parties, etc. He did write a nice article about that trip that is still online.

Here are some photos of 'Dah-veed':

with El Jefe at Viva Baja-2 (May 12, 2001)

with El Jefe abd Paulina at BBBB-1 (July, 2001)

Here, Neal Johns removes a cholla from David's foot during our Lost Mission Hunt (July 4, 2001)

Desert Rat, Debra, Coco, Sarah K, David Eidell (July, 2001)

Baja Barb (Mrs. elgatoloco) and David at the Malakan-Russian colonist exibit, in Guadalupe Valley (2001)... then he showed us the way to El Taco de Huitzilopochtli, Ensenada (the finest food in Mexico he told us)... (Aug., 2001)

Last time I saw David at his Tecate home, he gave me a book to donate as a door prize at my Viva Baja-3 party (2002) that he couldn't attend. (The Unforgettable Sea of Cortez, won by Heather)...
