Since doing a lift kit on my truck (6" FAB-TECH SUSP.), I was wondering, if I still should have to carry the stock spare tire under my truck
(p235-75R17),now Im running 35" ALLTERRAIN PROCOMP"S and the spare it's not going to work anymore, due to be a smaller diameter tire.I know I have to
buy a 35" spare to match what I have now,so the question is "DO I GET RID OF THE STOCK TIRE OR KEEP IT"
MY STOCK SPARE BEING INSTALL BY THE SQUARECIRCLE(ROY). ALOT DIFF. IN SIZE

Keep it.
I just gave my under size original tire to a stranded guy and he sure was happy! But until you find a place for a full size spare keep the original
too. My over size doesn't fit the original location. I may just buy a used tire & rim just in case someone else I come across needs it. What a joy
to help some one in need. Probably the first and last new tire he'll have.

Keep it. Besides what Russ says, you can limp out of a situation with that undersized spare if you have to-----just put the undersized spare on the
front axle, try to keep it out of 4 wheel drive, and certainly don't engage any lockers on that axle.
It ain't good for it, but you will make it out.
That's always been my understanding, anyway.
(I have the same situation, but never needed the factory spare as I travel on oversized BFG All Terraign TA's and never have flats that I can't just
plug.)

Hey kudos on yer lift! Sweet. That's a good lift. I have some Fabtech parts on there. Yeah I ended up completely changing out my suspension with
upgrades. The stock Dodge parts and cheap lift kit were ok for a couple years but man, Baja made me make some serious changes. My rig was softer
riding with those wimpy stock springs but that allowed more wear and tear on everthing else. I blew out a few stock-type shocks myself.
Big tires add considerable strain on suspension elements.
With the AAM 9.25 front end you need to change some critical parts if you want to continously drive hard off-road. The odd axle geometry also puts
undue wear and tear on things. I think your frt end is different Cat.

Keep it! In a pinch it will work just fine.
I purchased an identical spare rim/tire for my new Super Duty from CraigsList, ($40, can you believe it?) and I just keep it in the bed of the truck
so I can get to it easier, and the spare underneath is my spare spare.

I would keep it as a second spare. It can be used on a non locked axle like your front end (assuming you don't have a locker on it) and on your rear
if locked and the ground is loose, but not for too long.

OOps fergot what you asked sorry. I still have my stock spare up in there. I lowered it to do some shock work this year and realized the thang was had
a cable lock on it and where's the key?
It will work in an emergency.

thanks for the advice, guys, I have in the front axle a 205MM HD, what ever that is,and in the rear axle I have a CORPORATE 9.25 LD(limitid slip) with
and axle ratio of 3.55.
and yes I will keep my stock spare and look for a 35" spare later,
and Sharks I was told that this is a new version of lift kid for my truck, and that I shouldn't have any problem with the angle of my drive shafts or
axle ,but who knows time will tell..

I talk to 4wheelparts, where I lift the truck, about, this. i was told i can used the stock spare due to the off set of the tire is dif, from the one
that i have now,you see i had to buy new wheels to fit the new dimentions of the lift kit(fabtech).What are the odds of running into a truck with no
spare in baja that shares my bolt pattern, to me i think my stock spare is just death weight, I can fit a air comp, under there..B^J^C^T
What is this ?

You can keep it, but you run the risk of damaging your limited slip. It will sense the difference in rotation speeds and the clutches will engage. You
may do a lot of premature wearing on them if you run for a long time. OTH, it may be better for some extra wear than a long slog of not having a spare
at all. It would make a excellent 2ed spare.
