Not that I'm thinking about boring anyone but sometimes I like to read stories written by the Nomads. I hope people would like to share fiction or
non-fiction in one place.
Some folks are really good writers and story tellers but who would know where to look for them to enjoy.
Just an idea. What say you Doug?DENNIS - 12-18-2008 at 04:48 PM
Corky...
Does this mean you have more? I hope so. I very much enjoyed your last and you have a talent for it.
A while back, Amir's wife, Roxanne, [Remember?] hinted at your idea but, for some reason, it didn't get off the ground. I hope this time it will.Pompano - 12-18-2008 at 05:39 PM
Corky...Good repost of a good idea! Start it off. I for one will I be looking forward to them all. Most now are posted under Trip Reports, but it
might be handy to have a separate category for yarns.
It also might be very handy to have a separate forum for discussing Baja crime and violent acts.

Hadn't thought of a story forum... but have created specific forums here for people that seemed to (or indicated they would be) consistent in posting
creative pieces.
Hasn't worked out quite as well as intended thus far. But the good intentions were there.

Yep, now that I think about it, it's hard to keep putting out time consuming posts/stories only to see them fade away to the next page.
My thinking was more as a library archive of sorts where people could peruse various contributions.
I understand you have created many different forums which is great. THe problem I have is that while certain forums may hold the info I look for,
they are not visible to me the way I surf this site.
Personally, from an ease of use standpoint, I'd like to see either a handy drop-down menu or have small labeled buttons I could see on any page of
the available forums. The only page(s) I normally visit are the post(s) that are listed in "todays' posts" and being a lazy surfer, I tend to not
click on the other forum links, or navigate back to the homepage where one must go click once again to see the different forums available.
There are literally volumes of resources on your servers. Getting at some of the stuff I like is not too easy to access or render with a search.
Maybe many forums are not visited purely because someone like me can't see them available.David K - 12-18-2008 at 11:25 PM
Nomad story telling...
as long as Doug makes a Nomad (non-Baja) trip reports forum, I'm all for it!
Trust the Baja Nomads' sense of adventure and dioscovery, and would like to read of Nomads who go to other places besides Baja and see their photos
and read their reports... also, I have some great stuff from Arizona and New Mexico to share.DENNIS - 12-19-2008 at 08:29 AM

Perhaps serialize your story into shorter segments. That way the interest will mount and the audience will grow. I think you got a good response
from readers with your last effort and that should be gratifying, more so than for a story which languishes away unread in the desk drawer. Dont quit
now. You're just getting started.Udo - 12-19-2008 at 02:27 PM
I think we all know who the writers are. It's tough to search for a story title, but perhaps a search by the writers.

When Amir's "Green Gnome" (wish they would come back) put up a couple and suggested a Creative Writers' Forum, I seconded the motion and then put up a
couple of short ones.
If this were implemented by Doug, I would contribute stories too. Thanks for considering it, Doug. There are several talented writers of whom we are
already aware. Sharks dropped a good one on us. I had no idea he had that talent.
David K's idea is a good one too.CaboRon - 12-19-2008 at 05:23 PM
I also like the idea of a story forum ...
And I just saw amir a couple of days ago ...

Can someone write stories about how baja was 30 years ago... i have forgotten all the good things. Stories like finding a cold six pack of beer on
your car when you return from a surf session- instead of having all your stuff stolen and your dog abused. The good ole daysHook - 12-20-2008 at 05:31 AM
I'm still down as being for a non-Baja (but still Mexico) related board.
