1. I drew to an inside straight.
2. I walked outside onto the sand and noticed my footprints are now about 1 foot deep.
So I made up my mind:

SO...a couple days ago I was on a hike up the old Camino Real..
.. and noticed this boat heading back to camp.
. Hmmm..Is he in a hurry for lunch?...and then a little siesta?

Ahh..pretty nice up here. I believe I'll take a nap...right after I finish this pastrami and rye.

Here is the Sunset Baja guide of 1971... same palms... been there awhile!
Roger, cool picks of the old Baja main road pre 1970-ish when the Transpeninsular road was graded and then paved a year or two later along Concepcion.

Well, it was another beautiful day in the Bay and so I took a little drive along the waterfront highway...slowly heading towards La Palapa for
breakfast.
Shrine of the Bay
This Catholic shrine was built a few years after the highway went in and is a familiar landmark to many Baja Road veterans. Located on a cliffside
overlooking Bahia de Concepcion between Playa Cocos and Playa Burros, it's a pleasant and reverent stop for photographers and worshippers alike.
It is supported through traveler's donations and maintained by local custodians. You'll always find candles burning here.
. Driving past the other day, I noticed some small cactus have been added to the site.

As I stopped to look closer, I noticed the cactus were flowering on top. Hey, neat! Certainly colorful..why had I not seen them
before? Ahh..the wonders of Mother Nature are truly.....wonderous.
I decide to take a photo or two.

I was in a euphoric mood, so to speak, and stooped to smell those nice blossoms...and found they smelled slightly like ...
Plastic!

There's a moral to this ...but I'll be damned if I know what...nor do I much care.
I just hope my breakfast is authentic...Baja can be a real mystery at times.
