The wife and I are heading down to todos Santos next week. WE have camped down there many times in the past, but have not been down that far in 3
years. Can anyone tell me if there is camping at San Pedrito, cerritos, also the small RV park by La Pastora, And 91x? We have heard so many different
storys about these spots that hopefully someone who has been there lately can give us a heads up on what we can expect. We will be in a truck camper
combo and can be pretty creative, cautious, where we stay. Thank you, Dave and Joan.

I drove over to Los Cerritos today to check on the camping situation. The campground at the beach is closed and I don't see that it will be reopened.
However, if you head over to it and drive along the side closest to the beach, you will find that there are several campers situated outside of the
campground area, but very close to it. I spoke to several people there and they told me that nobody has asked them to leave where they are. They are
practically on the beach.
Just down the highway, toward the new Condo high rise going up, there are several people in a very large area camping. Getting in is a little
convoluted, but basically you turn where the "Baja Properties" sign is off of the highway and follow that road down to the second right, follow that
up and then around and skirting the property south of the Condos and then head toward the water.

We were down last year for the month of October.
San Pedrito, correctly named Playa Estero had indeed turned back into an estuary. Standing water behind the beach berm, bamboo and reeds. The RV
area totally grown over.
I would suspect the bugs would be bad at night, unwanted visitors could be worse. We were warned not to over night there.
Los Batiquitos north of town looked almost as abondoned. We found Fransisco the care taker and he let us in. He offered to turn on a hot water
heater for us, but all we needed was water, since we make our own hot if wanted.
He kept the southern gate locked and we came and went out the north gate past his home.
Best, most beautiful and peaceful camping we have had almost anywhere.
The breeze through the coco palms and morning and evening birds was the BCS perfect.

I found one looking north through the old camp ground at Pedrito. You can just make out the bathroom / shower building in the background.
Never saw the point break either while we were there.
Seemed like it was pretty gagged with sand.
A few big swells may or may not have corrected that though.

Thank you for the info. We really love that whole section of baja. I guess we will just wing it when we get there. Cerrittos area is in for sure for a
few nights. los batiquitos, didn't know the name but reconize the picture, is a awesome quiet place.maybe a few nights there. San pedrito, playa
estero, is a real question mark. We have friends who live at punta gordo who told us about the unwanted visitors. they said the meth problem in that
area is bad and there have been a lot of robberys on the beach there. We'll drive in there and check it out for ourself and make a discision if it is
safe or not. The last place we want to check out is south of town. We know it as 91x. Stayed there a bunch of times in the past, but its kinda remote
there and may not be safe anymore. we'll check that out also and see whats up. Like I said, we love that area and we will adjust to whatever the
camping situation is. There are always lots of friendly people there and we hope to camp in numbers with them. Thanks again.
