I was born and raised in the city. Good ol' London Ontario in the ever lovely Canada. It may not be the most exciting city but it did the job. In the 21 years I've been living, I have always been out of my element when visiting farms, ranches and this time; Baja Asunción.

I have been to Mexico several times and know how cultures work. Coming here was so different for me. I always go to all inclusive resorts and have my vacations that way. Now, don't get me wrong; I am no newbie to culture and how to interact with those different from me. I am always interested in learning about culture and from being here, I've achieved that. I have learned the ways of living in a fishing village and the motivations that can make or break this town. It is amazing how different the settings of where we live are but how similar the families can be and the dynamic that we all live with.

As much fun as I'm having here and all the new experiences that I wouldn't be as open to doing at home, I will always want to be in the city with all the "gringo" types of things.. cable, water from the tap, juicy steaks and most of all; the greasy disgustingly yummy taste of McDonald's hahah

I'm having one hell of a time in Baja but I will always miss home.

Well, now ya know...

I've traveled extensively and worked/lived abroad. The most important take away from all my travel experiences whether in Baja or elseware is that it's important to have your "own" experiences and not listen to what everybody else says about a particular country or culture. Develop your own opinion by actually being there. Good for you Edder!

But Ontario city life must be a little different than our country area. We know the feelings you have for Baja..touched with a passionate and nostalgic homesickness for your origins. That's as it should be.

We adore your province and travel it's cities and wilderness areas often.

We live on a completely open border, but naturally never have any illegal crossings...except those dang yard-pooping Canadian Geese, on whom I have sworn revenge! I imagine London, Ontario has them in abundance, too. I can lend you shotguns and decoys.

The damn Canadian Geese! haha They are a hassle sometimes and can hurt you if you get too close but you have to admit they're pretty cool to look at and observe.
I enjoy being here but I love being home as well.
