Los Cabos satellite pics

bajadave1 - 1-8-2009 at 04:34 AM

I recently saw a photo I assumed was a taken via satellite. The quality was amazing. It showed a couple of cruise ships and even wave runners! I've tried the search function here at Amigo's......& also Nasa. Googled,Nothing! Anyone else might know or remember where this may have been accessed? Thanks for any help.

Go to: http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/sseop/clickmap/ for high quality satelite photos. It is a library of pictures taken by astronauts of earth -- interesting and you can down load high quality - in some cases more detail than Google. Paul

I think the pic you refer to is from Google Earth. Just entered Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and it brought me in. There were two ships at anchor. However great Google is, it is erratic. Depending on where you want to search in the world, the resolution will vary immensely. Then there's the topicality. As I looked at Cabo, I noted the old Hacienda Hotel sitting there in all its glory on Playa Medano.

I had a Marine Electronics repair shop there and worked for the Parr's in the late eightys!

I think many of you know about it, but there is a FEE BASED GOOGLE EARTH that shows incredible detail to the point that one can just about see the lic. plate numbers on a car.
I saw my house on it and I could actually count the tiles on my roof...amazing, plus it's in real time, not a past shot.

Perhaps you want a poster satellite image of your favorite Baja area, or the whole peninsula? Maybe that is what you saw? Go to http://www.satprints.com a Baja Nomad member has the business 'Satellite Man'.
