Asuncion Lap Dancer emigrates to USA

shari - 1-12-2009 at 08:32 AM

So amigos mios...no more free lap dances from dear Lucy...Nomad Packoderm has adopted her...whizzed her away under his jacket after she spent a few days with them in San Roque. Many of you threatened to take her home...got her hopes up...then waved goodbye....but she finally realized her dream of emigrating to the states.
She has a clean bill of health and wont have to deal with any more puppies either and is happily lap dancing for a new family....sniff sniff....she will be missed...but we are happy for her good fortune.

In other canine news....Awful Art also gave new life to a gimped up doggie....viva pet adoptions...gracias amigos.

Great story and so glad to hear she is getting a new home.

Any photos???

Terry28 - 1-12-2009 at 09:39 AM

So now you need to find a home for F.D.R.!!! That is if he is still there...

dtbushpilot - 1-12-2009 at 10:07 AM

I'll be down there tomorrow. If anybody needs a lap dance before you get a new dog I'll be available........dt

shari - 1-12-2009 at 10:50 AM

As a vecino said as he waved goodbye to FDR in Awful Arts truck..."if he can find a good home....well...there's hope for all of us! Lucky mutt!!!

shari - 1-12-2009 at 12:01 PM

Here is Lucy doing what she does best. In this photo, Rita is just getting used to her, but they are getting along famously now.

Oh so bittersweet.....I will miss Lucy big dog, but she's off to bigger venues!! I guess I'll have to bring my own doggie next time, he's about Lucy's size and pretty good at bustin a move himself. Maybe I can teach Shammy how to dance???

Packoderm - 1-12-2009 at 12:35 PM

Here she is while vacationing in Bahia Concepcion. She is posing with my brother Dan.

Dan will want to kill me if he finds out I posted this picture.

Wonder if Lucy Big dog misses us? think she misses having to scrum for her food with the other 7 dogs?...or sleeping outside on the cold hard ground? NOT! good thing we raised her bilingual.

Of course she misses you, who wouldn't? We all do...and she's probly missing Asuncion, but she's also probly really digging her new family. It will be interesting to see how she reacts when she and her family come back to visit. Is Tuto still hanging around the rental?

shari - 1-12-2009 at 02:11 PM

here is the photo you wanted for your avatar...maybe you can copy it from here and resize it...or ask david k to help

Packoderm - 1-12-2009 at 02:54 PM

I didn't initially plan on keeping Lucy. I didn't bring Rita with us because we had planned to drive to Los Cabos, get rid of the van, and fly back home. Shari offered us a choice of one of her dogs for companionship during our brief stay at the beach house in San Roque. I chose Lucy, and we enjoyed a very fine stay in San Roque. However, when was filling out my FMT when I first entered Mexico, I noticed that my passport was to expire 3 days prior to our departure. Lucy weighed heavily on my decision not to pursue legal options from the consulate in Cabo San Lucas. Luckily, I had also brought along my birth certificate, so I had the option to enjoy the vacation for the planned amount of time and then cross the border overland.

I elected to keep Lucy, so we had her spayed and vaccinated at the clinic in the Oasis modular living establishment in Mulege. The requested donation for spaying is $20.00 U.S., and vaccinations were somewhat less. We gave $60.00 for the spay, shots, Frontline flea control, and a certificate to present at the border. Neutering and vaccinations are free of charge for locals. Ramon, the gentleman who rents kayaks at Playa Escondida, seemed to take great pride in his dog getting spayed at the clinic. This clinic definitely deserves a thumbs up.

Lucy was a perfect lady during our vacation and was a great travel dog. She is very intelligent. She knows her name. She is needy, but will instantly back off if I give any indication that I need my space. She stops walking when I say "No." She goes potty upon placing her on our lawn. She hasn't yet had an accident in our house. I am glad that she will have Rita for company when I am away. All in all, she was very quick to make our house her home.

When crossing the border in Tecate, we held onto some fruits and eggs from Baja. When asked, we didn't try to hide this, so we got sent into secondary. We gave the agent the bag with the offending items, and he did a one-minute look through the van. He asked if the dog was coming back with us from Mexico. I said yes, and he asked for any paperwork we might have. I showed him the paper given to us from the clinic, and he seemed pleased. He was very friendly. He reminded me of William Macy from CSI. After telling us that we were free to go, he offered us use of the restroom facilities and casually mentioned to me that my passport had expired 3 days earlier. He seemed pleased when I pointed to my birth certificate on the dashboard, and we headed back home. In total, the border wait took 21 minutes including secondary.

Thanks Shari, but I'm not having any luck. When I resize the pic it loses quality, but looks very tie dyed. David K, any suggestions?

I was told by a border agent that they would be accepting expired Passports. Anyone else hear this or see it written?

BajaGringo - 1-12-2009 at 08:51 PM

An expired passport is still a legally accepted form of birth cerrtificate for the US government. At least that is what I was told at the state dept office at LA years back...

Packoderm - 1-12-2009 at 09:16 PM

You mean they would have let me on the airplane with an expired passport? Oh well; I guess fate has a way of working things out. I guess I've got me a five hundred dollar dog out of the bargain and a van too.

Timo1 - 1-13-2009 at 07:37 AM

Thanks for the info at the Tecate crossing Packoderm. We have little Ottis (growing by the minute) already to go. Passport in hand.

Looking forward to meeting you today dtbushpilot. Think you will be our neighbor. You can't miss us. This Ottis gives out wet kisses, not so good with the lapdancing tho.

I have to say that my trip over break was my first meeting of Lucy but I'd heard many stories about her. The Bondy's from Canada seemed to love her and hate her but I'm glad that she has a good home. Shari, I'm sure you and Juan will always remember her as the dog that is a crazy mix (then again, what dog there isn't?) and that she will forever be a Panga dog.

She was nice to me when I was visiting and I'm glad that she got to be a world traveler. Hope she has a healthy and happy life but she may just make her way back to good ol' Bahia.

Enjoy your life Miss.Lucy LapDancer

2-tie-dye-4 - 1-13-2009 at 05:49 PM

How's that bajagringo?

Packoderm - 1-14-2009 at 10:54 PM

The avatar with Lucy cracks me up. Lucy seems to have adapted well to suburban life here. I took her to the dog park with Rita. She walked around the perimeter of the park with us, and then she socialized with the other dogs. She displayed high energy there for about an hour and a half which I'm sure would surprise many who know her. I'm surprised how thoroughly she has adjusted to her new life and family. Jimmy has nicknamed her Mrs. Puppington, and that works for me too. She's the greatest, and it can be nothing but a loss for all those who have considered taking her but didn't. Thank you Shari.

Packoderm - 1-15-2009 at 06:08 PM

I was impressed with that cat. That is the black one you're offering right? We already have two cats, otherwise, I'd try to get Spooky.
