Price per Gallon

Timo1 - 1-17-2009 at 11:20 AM

We are leaving for Canada on Monday
When we came down almost 2 months ago we found the price of propane in the US was just about double that of gas.
Our motorhome is dual fuel....Propane and ags for the engine.
In Canada and Mexico its far less expensive to run on propane if you don't use it on the hard pulls.
Does anyone know if the price per gallon for auto propane has come back to reality in the US since we've been down here???
Inquiring minds need to know

Timo1 - 1-17-2009 at 11:26 AM

ooops....That should read propane and gas for the engine

shari - 1-17-2009 at 12:01 PM

were those teardrops I saw on your post amigo??....so does that mean the yellowtail fishing will go with you??? most likely.
bur really kids, you have no idea how much we will miss you ....sniff sniff...bawl.

Who would go back to Canada in January? Are you nuts?

Bajahowodd - 1-17-2009 at 04:46 PM

Gasoline is still under $2, however, it has risen about .20 a gallon in recent weeks. Don't know about propane.

roundtuit - 1-17-2009 at 06:38 PM

propane is about $ 145.00 for approx 7 gallon

BajaNuts - 1-17-2009 at 06:44 PM

$20.71/g for propane???

gotta be a typo there somewhere.................

BajaNuts - 1-17-2009 at 06:46 PM

I see roadside signs for propane in our area (eastern WA) for $2.40/g propane and gas is running $1.98/g.

Hope this helps~~

roundtuit - 1-17-2009 at 06:58 PM

Sorry I only think in peso. Actually bill today was $ 130.34 plus tax $ 13.03
for 7 plus gallon

BajaNuts - 1-17-2009 at 07:13 PM

pesos...:).....that makes more sense!

David K - 1-18-2009 at 12:01 AM

Interesting that a symbol for the peso wasn't created to help the confusion.

If able, an S with two lines could be dollars and with on ($) could be pesos... But do keyboards have the US dollar symbol with 2 lines hidden somewhere?

MN$ and US$ are another way to seperate the two, perhaps?

Timo1 - 1-18-2009 at 07:16 AM

Thanks for the prices...Might not be so bad this trip
Yup...Back up to Canada in Jan.
I have too or trust me...I wouldn't
By the way...Its warmer at home than most of the US

Yeah....that's exactly the way it's done, by hand. Of course, the computer can't do that so we have to keep in mind the need to explain.

Usually I'll indicate Pesos this way...P or Ps.

I'm confused........usually am but, am I seeing a 10x1 exchange rate in your post?

dianaji - 3-21-2009 at 11:32 AM

so. does that mean it's less than 2 dollars per gallon if paid i pesos? i don't do well with figuring out these things...

For your forty mile trip, the difference wouldn't buy a bottle of beer. Quit doing the math, live the dangerous life and just buy some gas whenever you need it and get on the road.

dianaji - 3-21-2009 at 11:46 AM

it's way over 40 mile...it's 50 mile just to the border for me. so, that's almost 200 mile...plus the trip to guadalupe valley.

we all have our petty economies...this is mine...what is yours?

can u answer my question, or do i have to wait for someone else. when i ask a question, i am not asking for advice.

If you got an honest pour and got top rate of exchange then you would be right close to $2 per gallon.

But you won't.

Actually, "we all" dont.

Bajahowodd - 3-21-2009 at 11:38 PM

Lucy??

David K - 3-22-2009 at 10:03 PM

With gas the same price ($2.20 +/-) on both sides... might as well buy it all in the U.S. knowing the amount pumped will be accurate.

Average Price of Diesel week of March 9th

tripledigitken - 3-23-2009 at 08:19 AM

On our recent trip to Baja Sur and average price per liter was 7.41 pesos or $1.92 US (at the conversion of 14.6 peso's to the dollar.)

Not that much lower than the fillup state side ($1.99).
